Maybe it is being "mOAr TouGHeR" when a noticeable amount of 3rd gen drivers seem obsessed to pass, tailgate, race to and from stoplights and do other silly or poor choice behavior in the presence of my 4th gen???? That looks really silly when the routes have climbing and a lot of carry or towing because the 4th gen will leave them screaming in pain when the torque or at altitude advantages shine.

The "mOAr TouGHeR" behavior is so goofy because the only thing driving our 2015 before the 4th gen Tacoma purchase did to me was spark or regenerate the thoughts on a new vehicle purchase. In post purchase mode I choose the ignore button (2nd pic).

I made a big mistake with the eject seats and no sunroof so maybe should move the ignore button to center console.

 

3rd Gen Tacoma (gritty, scarred, and unbothered):

4th Gen Tacoma (fresh off the lot, full of attitude):

Title adjusted. Where is Toyota getting the info they use to make decisions on what to do with the next gen Tacoma? Who is the worl are they surveying? Sales say yes they are moving in a favorable direction but survey says not really...

 

I'm guessing two groups;
1.) Retired guys who miss the old adventure, but will never go off-road, but need smooth ride and a ball cooler with all the bells & whistles
2.) Lifestyle insta boys & girls

This is no longer a everyman / women's truck for the daily or pool boys

 

so what in the worl are folks buying for a new midsize truck that wants low price, low tech, and high off road capability, and high towing?

 

Do you remember the Tacoma towing the people on the couch in the desert and the furries riding first bikes commercial? That.

Like most things now, image over substance.

Look at how many people lease vehicles short term and change them like dresses with the seasons? The value of durability and reliability in any market seems to have vaporized.
