    Sorry to hear this Charlie.
I been in a few situations like that....
None of them I like to remember.

Sometimes it's good to talk it out.
Other times (for me) it's better to not talk about it.

I remember finding my neighbor laying in his floor from a stroke.
The noises he made and the fluids coming out of his body were NOT something I wanted to talk about.
I'd much rather see a dead body, than someone actively dying.
Yet, everyone wanted to know about "what happened".

We all deal with stuff in our own way.

For now, take care of the dog. That's the last thing you can do for Emily.
You and Amanda are good people for trying to find it a home. The shelters here are at full capacity.
Any animals taken to the county here, are put down in 3 days if not adopted. So you all are doing the right thing by keeping it until a rescue can take it.

I worked with a 20 year guy that never missed work and was never late. He didn’t show up one day so they fired him because that’s the way this company does business. A week later, they sent a supervisor to his house to give him his walking papers and they found him dead in front of his television set.

I wouldn’t say we’d been close friends for years, but we were all on speaking terms. We had flashbacks to Amanda’s mom dying alone in her apartment an hour away from us and it being found for about five days. Emily only lives 15 minutes from my house, so we hopped in the truck and hauled ass to her place.

I first texted Emily at 8:11pm, to humor Amanda, and got no response; I then called her at 8:13. It rang several times and went to voicemail. I called her from the truck at 8:32 while we were en route to her condo…

We arrived at Emily’s condo less than ten minutes after I left the voicemail, and I called 911 at 8:40PM; I was on the phone with 911 for six minutes, which means that the first responders arrived at about 8:46PM…

I called my dad at 8:49PM, after the police and medic had gained entry to Emily’s condo; I was on the phone with my dad when the cop told us Emily was dead…

Emily’s dad and his girlfriend spent the better part of a day clearing out Emily’s condo, and on Monday evening called us to tell us that he’d left a plastic bin of Hannah’s stuff on the front patio for us. Rolling up on Emily’s condo less than 48 hours after finding her there didn’t affect either of us like we thought it would. However, Emily had a lot of issues and lived in squalor (at least in my opinion, and I will freely admit that I am a bit of a slob). What you see here is all of the stuff that Emily’s dad and his girlfriend left curbside for the garbage truck to pick up today. The Taco is obviously mine, and the white Outlander Sport was Emily’s. If you look directly across the parking lot between my truck and Emily’s Mitsubishi, you will see a white Dodge Durango backed into a parking space. That Durango is the patrol vehicle of the detective who lives across the parking from Emily’s building and investigated the scene…
