For anyone who wants to know what actually happened: @Hayrider, a complete stranger who I've never talked to before, contacted me out of nowhere demanding that I send him the bypass module so he could have it reverse engineered. Seems he purchased everything else for this seat swap mod THEN realized the bypass modules were no longer being made. Removing that module from my truck would make it undrivable since all of the airbags would cease to function properly, and if the module was damaged in any way then I'd be SOL. So when I refused, @Hayrider naturally goes ballistic and starts threatening me online like an adult.

The above was posted by Tacomaholic but he deleted it because he knows he’s wrong.

I never demanded! I asked you nicely if you could help the rest of us out but no. I even offered to pay you and would gladly have paid you for the use of the bypass! Your system would work if no one was sitting in the passenger seat. Just needed to see it for a few days. Even the designer said it’s very easy to copy!
You’re the one being a Jack Ass! I thought you were on YouTube to help others but you could actually care less. Plus you really do act stupid on your videos. Trust me you are not funny.

I don’t care what Jack Ass says I seriously asked him very nicely and said I would greatly appreciate if he could let us copy the Bypass. You know I would never help anyone if they “Demanded”! I didn’t demand I asked could you PLEASE help the rest of us that would like to install these seats in our trucks.

Ladies & Gentlemen that’s the God honest truth I never demanded I kindly asked him I even offered to pay him whatever he wanted to be able to copy the bypass. He told me he didn’t want to be liable if someone was injured if something went wrong. He would not be responsible as he didn’t make it !

When this thread popped up in my feed I didn't even remember posting here. But I did FOUR YEARS AGO

We've been through 2 other vehicles since I had that FRS. Putting FRS seats in a Tacoma never made much sense to me and still doesn't I suppose. Different strokes...

id consider it, if someone made a plug and play kit

i am not interested in figuring it out myself, but i would love some fancy recaro or scheelmann seats, or even a set of those fancy lexus f sport seats

This 07 had nothing but PS & AC with a bench. Have another set for our 15 Access cab setting in the spare room they are now worthless until I can figure out how to make them work. The 07 didn’t have airbags in the seats, sorry bench seat. @uurx you should really try to find a car that has these to try them out as they feel better than the Recaro’s I had in our 78 280Z.

Late to the party and reading this thread. I found a site for airbag warning light blockers but what was interesting there was the part numbers for the harness parts. I just ordered these connectors and some wired pins and I am gonna try to make a plug and play conversion harness without cutting up seat or re-pinning. The 2011 Tacoma and 2020 86 driver seat I am looking at both have round plugs but Tacoma has 2 grooves and the 86 only has one.

    https://bradshacks.com/product/airbag-simulator/
2011 Tacoma is legacy and my 86 seats are from 2020 so
Tacoma Male plug into existing floor harness - 90980-11863
    FRS/BRZ should be 90980-12698

Alternate options I looked at were finding an SRS harness on eBay I found several to snag the male pkug from but anything with the female 86 pin (floor harness) were $70+ so once I confirmed the part number its more like $20 each side.

Will check back in and confirm this jumper harness works. Similar ones are common on other cars for aftermarket seats. I did not even try to mess with passenger seat.

I use the bradshack legacy connectors. All they do is fool the truck into thinking you have airbag equipped seats. Nothing more. They just look nicer to use than resistors and electrical tape.

I know the OP is gone, but just trying to get a better understanding. I have a 2005 crew cab. And I’m looking at 2013-2016 FR-S cloth, manual, bucket seats. Since I don’t have seat airbags is this a more plug and play install? Also still trying to understand what’s needed for the physical installation.

@Operator8 && Driver seat isn't too bad. I never got around to it but you can buy aftermarket sliders from planted and either hack up wire harness or in my earlier post I believe I found the parts for a adapter harness.

Passenger seat uses a weight sensing sensor that is fairly unique or at least not found on other newer model cars. I am not sure if 3rd gen uses same sensor or not i thought it was different. It probably has been discussed in this or another thread.

Passenger side should be “plug and play” just like the driver side on my 3G since it has the old OCS. I’m pretty sure it’ll either plug right up or you’ll have to order an OCS bypass, either way, easier than the 3G procedure.
