Fitting 35’s with minimal trimming NOW ADDING LONG TRAVEL AND 934 CV’s

I'm maxed out in caster. I'm running TC uppers and lowers.

What I'm hoping to correct is when driving straight, with minimal steering input, the truck wanders as it catches every groove in the road. They don't need to be deep semi-trucks ruts either. A simple road patch, which here in Washington, they like to replace ruts with strip patches that may be miles long. I'm hoping that the increased pressure from the Howe pump would be enough to help the truck from following these grooves by having more presence from the power steering.

 

sounds like tires to me, where the steering angle isn't changing, pump will do nothing, but as the tire itself navigates differences in height across the tread witdth, or different grip on one side of tire vs other, it is causing a pull from the tire itself. You could try different pressure in the front, or try swapping tires with someone else that has different ones, just as a back to back road test...

 

Got to take the project truck out for the first time a few weeks ago. This has been too long in the making. Put a lot of time into this project, especially over the past few months.

Wasn't a bad start for just coming off jack stands and heading to the desert 3 days later. Rear shocks were a bit stiff on compression but nothing a quick re-valve can't change.

I’m installing the sua kit, just curious what you guys torqued the shackle too. I’m not wanting to torque the 3/4” fine thread to its 315 ft/lb spec, seems a bit excessive. And just curious if it was just me, but putting the shackle into the mount was a royal pain.

 

I did mine to 250 ft/lbs with an extra 45° rotation. Marked with CrossCheck and no problems so far.

Looking to order shocks through accutune and need the shock angle. Does anyone know what that is?

 

Degrees from vertical is all I can think of. They’re probably interested in that for the motion ratio. If it’s a JD kit, should be able to get that info from Jesse. If they’re feeling nice, some companies will reach out for you. Just depends

 

The example was 90°, so I assume that's straight vertical. I'll see about calling them.

 

What shocks are you ordering? Front/rear? JD has specific notes for front coilovers and rear bypass layout. I have the coilover specs.

 

Ordering 2.5 smooth body King rear shocks from Accutune. An upgrade from the 2.0s I've been running.
I measured out the eye-eye at ride height and since my towers are 18" forward of the axle (since harry told me 17-18" when I was doing the install) the math comes out to ~37°.

 

I think you just need 14” stroke shocks then. Are you planning a reservoir? Remote or piggyback? Compression adjusters? Custom valving?

 

Yes, 14" travel shocks is what JD recommends for the setup. It's custom valve stack tuning that accutune provides. Thus I don't think I need adjusters and save the money. Remote reservoir with 90° fittings. The real question after I get them is where to get them charged with Nitrogen.

For context, I don't do a lot of highspeed stuff, just highway driving and slow/medium speed off roading/rock crawling.

Nice unit, price is on point. I would use this stand alone and not tie to the cab. No inner fenders or at least something flexible.

Would use as stand alone radiator support only and not tie my inner fender wells to the cab. My fender liners have pulled the spot welds off the cab.

 

So supportive they spell support with 3 Ps haha. I'm gonna need to pick one up sometime
