    Hi to all,
I look at all the post I could on this but still am puzzled. Here is the situation, thanks for any thoughts.
My 2012 V6 Tacoma was not putting out any cold air when first turned on this year and compressor not turning. Fuse was OK and Mag/clutch relay tested OK. I recharged with typical 18 oz can of recharge. Initial pressure showed zero and after can was fully empty, I was in the "green" or proper zone according to the can. AC came back on and compressor turning again.

I have found out though that with the fan on at any speed, I now blow nothing but AC air with the AC button off and not on the AC max setting. Turn the the fan off and everything shuts off.
If I set by temp setting to full heat though, I will blow hot air. Also seem to show a slight leak at low pressure fill port, but may just be residual from the can.
    Any Thoughts. Thanks, in advance

You don't have your mode dial set to defrost or floor/defrost do you? That will force the A/C on.

If not pull the MG CLT Relay and see if it shuts off.

Thanks for reply. Not on Defrost, I know that triggers AC. If I pull the relay, that should shut off AC, but what will that tell me?

It will tell you if the compressor clutch is physically stuck on or not.

If it's not then we will have to do some electrical checks.

Pulled the relay and the clutch disengaged. Otherwise compressor runs whenever the engine runs.

Did you fill it with the engine running and AC on?

Unplug the high pressure switch on the high side line near the passeger radiator support and see if it shuts off.

Filled in with engine running and AC on max. Can't disconnect the high pressure switch, I assume it's a push tab to release, but it is face down.
Definitely have a leak at the low pressure fill port. I guess I'll need to put in a new shrader valve and refill. Could that have been the cause of compressor always running? Also, Ok to drive with AC clutch relay removed so the compressor doesn't run 24/7?
    Thanks in advance for thoughts.

A leak wouldn't make it run all the time.
I'm trying to gather data to see where the issue lies, I know it's not the pressure switch but I wana see if the A/C Amplifier is capable of turning the compressor off which unplugging the switch should accomplish. That will tell us which path to go down next.

I think it’s always a good idea to replace the 2 shrader valves. That’s probably the easiest thing to do. I even soaked them in pag oil before install because I’m a little bit over cautious.

Thanks for your help, I don't mean to put you to work. I'll keep working on the hi pressure switch. Saw an earlier post the actuator might be the issue, there was some recent body/ new antenna work done in that area.l

You not putting me to work lol, working on a Corolla right now with a plugged condenser.

Certainly possible for it to be an actuator due to how they work, that was gona be my next check depending on what happened with the pressure switch unplugged.
Just for kicks take a peek under there and see if they are all plugged in.

Hi DM 93, undid the high pressure switch and the compressor runs all the time as usual. Only way to make it stop is to pull the mag/clutch relay.
You were right about getting the floor duct off, still haven't figured it out, but the turning off the gear for the different air flow settings is on the money.
Still losing pressure out the low pressure port. When it comes time to replace the shrader valve, do I need to have a shop evacuate the system or can I bleed it out myself.
Thanks again. Looks like all your electrical posts have well received!

Interesting, not the result I was expecting. Your sure it's the A/C pressure switch you unplugged?

If so we're down to the A/C Amplifier is bad or the MG CLT Relay control wire is shorted to ground, next step would be to unplug the A/C Amplifier and see if it shuts off.

Definitely the high pressure switch I unplugged. Where is the AC amplifier? I can look it up. Also noticed AC mag/ clutch relay is gouged on 2 sides. I ordered a new one. Thanks again

No worries, I was thinking you had already swapped relays. I didn't even think of the relay contacts being stuck but it makes sense now.
