It's amazing that the sci fi of yesterday is becoming the reality of today!
Someone once said something to the effect that " we are currently working on the improbable, the impossible will take a bit longer", which leads back to the old phrase of "nothing is impossible"!

yes it does, and it doesn't matter what forces you into this situation. Growing old is not for the faint of heart.

I have a question for all you porch people. How many of you are taking any of these new "Wonder" drugs like mounjaro for diabetes and weight loss. My Doctor prescribed mounjaro for me, and I took my first dose this morning. Really hoping not be overwhelmed with side effects. Time will tell.

Sorry I missed that dopey earlier

I can’t speak in particular but really only one way to lose weight
    - less calories and more activity. That said people are different and types of calories and the way your body deals with them varies.

As for drugs - same theme- it varies by person. To the point of some people having opposite results

I would say number one is to stop eating ALL processed foods. Not kidding. All. Eat clean lean foods. Vegetables, meats. A few fruits but not too much. When down to a healthy size and very active- maybe a little grains and one small piece of organic sourdough per day. This diet with your pills. See what happens

What was I thinking? Took off to spend a couple days trout fishing some high Sierra mountain lakes. These lakes are at about 8500’. Got up there and found all the roads heading off highway 4 to various lakes are closed due to snow. I’ve lived here all my life , fished these lakes hundreds of times and knew these lakes generally don’t open until June or so. What was I thinking? My old brain needs a tuneup. Stopped by the ranger station and sure enough they don’t expect to open the roads til June, maybe mid June. Told em one road didn’t look too bad, thought I could make it in 4wd. They laughed. Said if I tried and got caught the fine is $5000. I’m home now, guess I’ll try one of our valley lakes.
