Just wondering y'all opinion, I just got a front set of TRD Pro Fox suspension. I have a TRD Off-Road and I am interested in installing it for my truck. I only have the resources to get the front suspension. Would there be any problems or quirks of doing this?

No problems I can think of with that.

Not sure, but here's my story. The suspension parts shipped in stages. RXT packs first, then 5100 fronts, and finally 5125 rear shocks. I reused my stock front coils. It was odd but fun as I installed each as they arrived, and before the rear shocks showed up, I did a 4,000mi trip. During that trip, I would hit a bump every so often that just did not feel right. I chalked it up to just the way it was going to be. But after I installed the rears, the feel changed pretty significantly and was more cohesive.

It is cool that there is no jittery-ness with an empty bed, like stock did. Just feels planted empty or with stuff back there.

Thanks for the feedback. I'd figure something like could happen. But I'll just be in a hunt to find the rear suspension.

    You're welcome!

That sounds like a good plan. With some wheeling and hauling the stock shocks and leafs were toast at 50k. Some how, Toyota got the coils right. Go figure.

You may end up with a bit of a squatty looking rear end from lifting the front and not the rear. A 1/2" spacer in the rear will match TRD Pro heights and you can get away with the off-road shocks for now. You will need either longer u-bolts or a u-bolt flip kit as well in order to install the blocks. The oem lift blocks themselves are dirt cheap.

The even better option is the 1" rear block from the TRD lift kit but you really should do longer shocks with that.

Thank you for the advice. I really thought that the rear suspension for all the 3rd gen Tacomas were the same height. I just couldn't find anywhere about the height for the rear. I've always known the front suspension for the Pro is lifted, but not the rear.

Check how may bolts are in the top hat. Newer Pro fronts have a 4 bolt top hat and all other 3rd Gens have a 3 bolt.

The 22-23 pros and sr5 trail have 1/2” blocks in the rear. The 22 and 23 pros also have taller coils than previous year pro's.

With little to no lift changes, front shocks/coils will not hurt your suspension.

I went ahead and ordered the blocks and u bolt from the dealership. It's interesting that Toyota will not sell the parts on the trd pro suspension
