Tuff to tell only 100 miles but seems like it has a lot more power but need to break it in before I can really see what it can do.

$38k but in CO we get a tax break for that value so $38kx8.1% = 3078 so 41078. I only paid $41k for it new in '22 so very happy but I did have about $4k in extras.

That's great to hear I'll have some real world info in a month or so.

Not Sure yet, the Non-Hybrid has 40FP of Torque so i would think without any battery it would be much better, plus the turbo should help in higher RPM's.

I have a 2025 TRD Sport on order that was just built. Hope to have it by the end of the month. I sold my 2020 TRD Sport with leather, LED and JBL to Carmax 2 weeks ago for a few hundred more than I paid for it in 2020, and the values seem to still be climbing. Even with buying my 2025 outright I was ahead of the game. $3800 over dealer trade. Good time to sell if you can grab a new one without the tariffs.

I ordered a 4Runner Hybrid TRD 4 weeks ago for my wife that came in yesterday and no tariffs on it so doesn't seem to be hitting dealers yet. I was a little worried the price would change once it got here but it didn't, hopefully picking it up today.

I hate to say it but so far I agree, my '22 with Bilstein 6100's, 285's, & Manual was WAY more fun to drive! Hopefully the power an MPG will change my mind later on. The one plus is this thing is quiet on the inside, no annoying creaks and pops and it feels way less cheap.

I drove my Nephew's TRD ORP Hybrid around for a while and liked it, I'm still breaking mine in so can't push it like I was able to with his. Once I get this one to the same lift/suspension level of the '22 I think it will be way better simply do to performance.

That's not correct. Going up a mountain part throttle with or without cruise on, the Max kicks on regularly between 25-50% power. Other comments about Max only lasting 10sec may be true for WOT with 100%, but you will get way more than that "cruising" up a steep pass. Having that extra 37-74 ft-lb of torque (25-50%) keeps the trans from downshifting (or downshifting less) and doesn't require more throttle/fuel.

4Runners are still made in Tahara so any tariffs would have far less of an impact on those, at least as opposed to those threatening Mexican-built Tacos.

Japan and Mexico both have a 25% tariff on Auto's, why would it have a far less impact?

US content of Mexican imports doesn't get the 25% tariff and Tacomas have 1/3 US content. Since Japan imports aren't under the USMCA, they would get the full tariff regardless of US content.

Yes. Mexican assembled Tacomas currently are under USMCA rules.
The USMCA is scheduled for a review and potential extension on July 1, 2026.

The USMCA Rules of Origin for Automotive Goods
The USMCA ROOs for motor vehicles require a specific amount of North American content in the final vehicle in order to qualify for duty-free treatment under the USMCA. The USMCA raised regional value content (RVC) requirements to 75 percent for passenger vehicles and light trucks, compared to 62.5 percent under the NAFTA. In addition, certain “core parts” must also meet the higher RVC thresholds for the entire vehicle to qualify. The USMCA also requires that at least 70 percent of a vehicle producer’s steel and aluminum purchases originate in North America. Finally, the USMCA introduced a new LVC rule that requires that a certain percentage of each producer’s qualifying vehicles be produced by employees making an average of $16 per hour. Collectively, these new requirements are intended to incentivize increased investment in autos and automotive parts production within the United States and North America.

Tacomas may fall under USMCA rules, but they are subject to the 25% tariff.

I realize the tariffs are a moving target but it appears that for now, a "Mexican" Toyota would have a lower tariff than a "Japanese" Toyota.

    That is not true.
Trump may violate the treaty terms at some point, but not as of today or yesterday.

That's my understanding as well. The tariff on non-US content is exempt until they figure out how to actually implement the partitioning of the content.

    And a bit more....clarification.

Under the updated tariff system, parts that meet the requirements of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) are spared from the 25% duty slapped on most other components. This is a shift from Trump’s earlier suggestion that non-US parts would eventually face the same 25% tariff. Now, it’s confirmed that the current 0% duties on compliant parts will stay put – for now, at least.

According to Bloomberg, changes finalized earlier this week allow companies in the auto industry to apply for tariff offsets on parts for up to two years. This policy gives them some breathing room to relocate parts production to the US. The biggest winner here is Mexico, which is by far the largest source of auto parts imports into the United States, followed by Canada.

Behind a paywall, but the headline is from May 2. Bloomberg: “Trump’s Auto Tariff Relief Shields USMCA Auto Parts from 25% Tax”
