I grew up calling them "thousand year eggs". I didnt like them as a kid.

now? things have changed. I cant eat them like my in-law family in Taiwan..just chopped up with green onions and bottles of whiskey.

but as a ingredient, yup. I dig em. I've seen them on that TV show FEAR FACTOR. so I know there is a legit dis-trust of an egg cured in Tea leaves and other herbs...(hell, I'm not sure how they make them). I have some garden pots that are antiques. according to my mom, they were used to hold the eggs in the mixture for the duration of the cure. the pots have dragons on them.

they taste like a brie cheese to me. mild, cheesy flavored.

anyone game? I am going to make a bowl for a Hispanic foodie. push her envelope..haha..
