So I've taken my Taco in to a couple different places for maintenance and both have said that the dude who put my wool wax application on went way overboard. What's the best way to clean this crap up?

Of course tech's are gonna complain about it, everything they have to touch is going to be covered in a film of goo. I had to wipe down my suspension bits to put some bilsteins on recently but it wasn't that bad. You paid to have it sprayed on, why spend time or money to remove?

I just noted this in another thread. WW just wipes off easily. Hands or parts. I've pulled my trans twice since using WW. Non-issue.

I tend to use about half of a bottle, which folks say is a lot. But, it's fun. What can I say?

Hell, I even use Slime in my motorcycle tires and don't mind that when swapping tires.

Just spitballing here but... If i had to remove a WW application, i'd go after it with a pressure washer, a foam cannon and an undercarriage sprayer. I'd load up the cannon with simple green pro HD, purple power or other cannon friendly degreaser and foam the hell out of the undercarriage. drive the truck up on ramps to get under it a little easier. Then attach the rolling undercarriage sprayer and rinse the hell out of it. Might take a couple applications to get it clean enough to eat off of though. After that i'd hit it with some ChemX snake oil to give it an hydrophobic coating until you get it wool waxed again.

I used Krown, so I am not familiar with Wool Wax. That said; I would give it time, as I would guess it will degrade. How often is someone really under there working on it? I can't imagine this hinders regular maintenance.
My buddy is a tech and comments on how he likes working on my truck, because everything is not rusted out, makes working on it much easier. Yeah, if he works on the truck within a week of a fresh application, there are some minor drips, but most is gone within a few days.

Tech bitches it has too much corrosion protection, getting them "messy". Tech bitches the vehicle is rusty, and a pain in the ass to work on. Tech bitches... Get the picture?

It is your truck not the techs. If they say the applier went overboard, you can guess... They did a good job. Dont worry about what the tech said.

I hose my vehicles down when new, and hose the high wear areas every fall. I am protecting my investment. Like @tonered stated, even if you get some grime on you, it is lanolin based, so it is like cleaning hand lotion off ones self. It aint that hard. If the tech dont like it, maybe they can learn to code. ;) Ski

    ^This.

I would not remove only to re-apply...

Woolwax is sticky for a bit after application. Then it hardens in place. It is not messy at that point...

Oh - that's because you are using Fluid Film... Woolwax leaves an invisible protective finish. Much like a clean clear enamel coating . It is amazing. The taco looks like it just came off the assembly line - even better!

Dust & mud simply slide off leaving a better than factory new looking underside...This is why I much prefer it!

(The above is a joke and absolutely not true...) :D

To be clear... I meant that once it is 'cured' or 'dry', it is 'not messy' as far as one could expect while working around the stuff.

    - As in: 'it wont drip copiously on your whiny tech' and it 'won't stick to clothes on casual contact'... that sort of not messy... Wax is messy and hard to wash off - hence its use in this application.

You are applying a thick goopy wax coating to the underside of the vehicle. - I wonder what your expectations were as to what the end-result should look like after applying such a concoction to a vehicle!

This is what I was imaging. OP maybe remind them of the alternative (crusty rusted fasteners) or find a shop with actual wrench-benders that don't watch and aspire to be Tik-Tok'ers working at Ferrari dealerships.
