Motorcycles BS Thread 2.0

Started in on doing fork seals/bushings/fluid on the super tenere last night.

These are pretty simple open cartridge corks, one side controls compression, the other rebound with simple stepper motors to move a needle to open / close an orifice depending on the settings set in the electronic suspension. Fluid looked OKish, bushings looked GREAT (YAY!) but did have one seal that was starting to weep so figured may as well do it right and replace n clean everything.

I really loathe suspension work as its usually messy and sketchy with compressing springs and slippery fluids... Hoping to get a few things to make a "rod puller" to cycle the damper rods to bleed the air tonight then put things back together tomorrow night.

 

welp. today's the day. kind of but not really

sending the money for the down payment on a used 2023 Panigale V4 a little later today, will be going up Friday evening or Saturday morning to bring it home. Decided to opt for an extended warranty and maintenance package as well. With how much I ride that first Desmo is gonna be coming up quick.

haha fair but im sure if i brought a 1k superbike home the gf would tell me to take it back lmao. 1k and bigger cruiser or touring bike no problem super bike noope lol
