I have a possible opportunity here in town that’d pay 10k more a year than what I’m making rn. I’d feel bad about leaving my current job after only 7 months though. I feel like they’d understand more if I was moving back home rather than staying in the same town.

Don't do anything that can make things look bad on a resume

But more importantly, don't concern yourself with feeling bad for a company

There's nothing wrong with loyalty, but more often than not its towards a direct supervisor, co-worker, and not the company itself

So if a better opportunity presents itself, don't hesitate to pursue it, regardless of how "bad" you feel for leaving your current employer

Your employer wouldn't feel bad letting you go if they were overstaffed, found a way to cut your position, etc

Think the opportunity will be there in a few months? Personally my goal with the first engineering job was a full year. At my now second real job goal was 2 years, at like 3 now but haven’t started looking much

    Fuck yeah!

Might find a dude selling a bunch all at once when the "kids grow up"

    Gotta capitalize on those deals

Something else to add is, the $10k difference is really small

That's less than $1k per month and that's gross, not even net

I would look at things from a long term perspective - do you have a short ceiling at your current employer? What about other employers and their opportunities? Benefits? Etc

More money is good don't get me wrong, but if you have more opportunity at your current job, it ain't worth leaving

You need a company where you can really grow and move up the ladder

A bad direct supervisor is the number 1 reason for people leaving their job, having little opportunity to grow and move up is probably the 2nd top reason for leaving (being unhappy)

I’m not sure, it’s a job with the city which don’t come up that much I don’t think.

I would like to stay at this job for at least a year, but this seemed like a good opportunity so I applied. I got an interview so we’ll see how that goes. I may not get it since I don’t have an urban planning background anyway.

Yeah I do the Flintstone brakes with those all the time, feet don't fit and it's pretty light. I do know this bike did come with a throttle set screw so you could limit how much throttle they have access to

Will they cut you a check to do your own repairs? I did that with my first tacoma back in 2013

Well we're not that far yet; that was a thought that occurred as I could just pocket the cash and sell the rig as is

The damage (compared to the pre-existing fading and scratches) is minimal so getting a new bumper would be like putting lipstick on a pig

Don't get me wrong the GX cleans up well, and is stupid reliable, but it will be sold no matter what so I don't need to invest in its aesthetics

All body panels are factory and nothing's been replaced

What the gal did give me is a phone number to provide to the shop once I found the shop I want to use

I assume they sort of want to pay a shop directly based on that, but we'll see

Only thing I won't know how much to bargain for is for a diminished value claim seeing as how my rig is +21 years old

Good opportunity to build a pate bumper. My original step bar got smashed into the rocker panels and they wanted like $600 just for that. Steel 2x6 rock sliders were far cheaper

Not worth investing in a vehicle that's all stock and being sold though :boink:
