Hello, I am having some issues with my spare tire lowering mechanism. Recently, I lowered the spare to put on so I could take my main tire to Discount to get it patched. After the patch they put the spare back under the tire and raised almost all the way up. It's not snug against the frame so every little bump makes it "squeak". I tried raising it with my key and it would not catch on anything to raise/lower. Attached are pictures of my key and where it would go to lower it.

It looks like discount rounded out the hole somehow because there is nowhere for they key to lock into and turn. I know Discount must have messed something up because it was fine before I took it in. Has anyone had this issue before or know what is going on? I don't really want to take it into Discount because they will probably blame me and it will most likely be a big waste of time.

Would discount use something else to access spare tires? The rods were not put back correctly so I know they must've took them out to use them. Any ideas?20250507_151714.jpg 20250507_151749.jpg 20250507_151806.jpg 20250507_151922.jpg

The lock receptacle fell out from the hoist mechanism. (It's a known issue with the Toyota accessory spare lock if the dealer didn't seat it in all the way during installation.) Remove the key from the hook and just use the hook.

That worked, I'm dumb for not even noticing that. Thank you!
