I'm a desert rat. It was in the low 20s, and I just don't do that kind of cold. I didn't pop all the vents, so there was a little condensation. It might have been less if I had. Overall, though, it was very comfortable.

I learned how heavy the top gets with 6 inches of snow on it, though. I had to brush it all off before I could open it back up to finish tucking everything in.

Finally got around to hard wiring my Starlink Mini to my AuxBeam controller (the “GPS” position on the controller) so I can leave the Jackery at home. I put a voltage booster in line to accommodate for the voltage loss due to the length of the power cable.
Works like a charm to keep the Netflix going for my better half and the YouTube going for my boy!

Has anyone put a fan in the roof? We're looking to get one and wondering if anyone has any pro-tips on installing one. Looks like we might need to add a spacer of some sort since the SP roof is pretty thin and will need something for the screws to grab onto.

Really excited to upgrade to a SP. Just made this account so I can post my GFC for sale. 49 more posts to go until I can post in the for sale thread!

I'd post on the GFC forum marketplace, if you haven't already...and no required minimum post count.

Thanks, I'd actually love to! I don't remember the password to my account there, and it won't send me the email to reset it. I emailed GFC support. I also posted the ad on Facebook.

I went and found one that is new to me, ha. Took a drive north of SF for it though. Met up with a guy off of SP's marketplace. Didn't really have much of a plan other that he said we could meet up at Home Depot and find some laborers, ha. I said, sure, that's on you though.

Super weird seeing my truck without any gear on the back.

    Dude actually found laborers, ha.

Then I made is as far home as I could before pulling over and setting it up for the night.

But then I got home and found I'm just a little too tall for my garage now. Even if I air down, ha. Is raising my garage door header going to far?

I was pleasantly surprised to find out mine fits under the covered parking at the new shop.

Stupid build as small as possible garages here, smh, ha. Ground to top of tent is 83 and some odd inches. Which technically should have fit. Dumb stucco and trim and weather stripping, haha. It was worth a shot.

Anyone have issues with the lock/unlock mechanism for the tent? One side is really difficult to undo. Like 10 times harder than the other side. Last time I had to use the handle portion of a hammer I had to get it unlocked

Only thing I've run into so far is if the tent has too much inside it to compress, then the latch gets a little difficult to do or undo. I've found its easier to open if I add some downward pressure to the tent while unlatching it.

I've bumped into this like @shaggy135 has when I have too much inside to compress or if I miss a bit of the tent material when tucking everything in. Something I've found that really helps is using a mini-vacuum to pull out all of the air from the mattress. This allows me to keep a quilt and puffy style blanket and two full sized pillows (pillows are in a vacuum sealed bag) up there and close up shop with ease!

Something else that helped as well is lubing up the mechanism with dry lube.

I don’t have anything up top currently. And it looks like the extrusions are basically slammed against each other. The right side works fine. I guess I’ll get in touch with SP.

Oh that's a head scratcher for sure!! If you haven't shot some dry lube in the latch mechanism you may want to give that a whirl as well...otherwise, a call in to SP may be in order (hopefully the dry lube solves it without more hassle).

I did soon after picking up my camper. Both sides. Same thing, I pretty much had to get a lever under it to pop it open. Talked to SP who recommended spraying some lubricant in there. Only had WD40 at the time and it immediately went back to smooth operation. I picked up some Boeshield T9 spray later and have sprayed that on anytime it develops some resistance. Happens every 6 months or so.

Yep, me as well. On the SP forum Boeshield T9 has been recommended. I keep a rubber mallet in the bed to drive stakes for my awning. When the stuck issue arises in the field the rubber mallet comes in to play. I’ve been looking for a small can of dry lube (graphite) to keep in my SP, but haven’t found any yet.
Had mine for two years and still happens occasionally here in dry Colorado climate.

We ran into the same issue, just need to lube it. We used some bike chain lube we had and that worked great.
