Damn, wish i knew about that deal. Been wanting a plasma for a while.

 

It was just the deal where they mark down the open box stuff more and more each day, think it happens for all their big sales events. Got to get a little lucky finding what you’re looking for and hoping it’s still there the last day (if you want the best deal). I scouted all 5 HFs in Tucson looking for it

 

I have a plasma I will let go. Basically brand new just sitting collecting dust in my garage.

About to pull the trigger on an awning, thinking about the ARB with the integrated light. Any opinions yea or nay? Go something like Roam instead?

 

Been looking at the Kammock Crosswing for my GFC, but the price of admission is steep...hard to justify since I rarely used the awning I had in a previous setup.

 

I ruled it out simply because it has no outer cover. People who own them complain that because there's no solid cover to it, plastic parts and tabs get yoinked off by foliage on tight trails, and dusty trails fill it with dust (which presumably also gets into the inner workings). I emailed Kammok and asked if they had any plans to make a cover, they said no.

 

Well, that certainly makes their plus $1K pricing even more absurd

 

I think we talked about this in the recent past but Id sell my Overland Vehicle Systems HD Nomadic 270, driver side awning. I was on the fence before but Im actually willing to sell it this time. $500

Give me your reasons for wanting the LT and passenger side and Ill do my best to convince you otherwise.

 

I decided on the ARB, got it thru the 'zon and I got $60 off in gift cards from work and "6 equal monthly payments" for the rest. ARB has spare parts galore too which is nice.

Out of curiosity, why did you go driver? I'm kind of halfway between one or the other, kind of defaulted to passenger in my mind, and might be forced to depending on how it might interfere with my cell booster antenna when the hatch opens.

 

It's 2006. As I leave Wal-Mart after picking up my Colt 6920, I see my new warning sticker on my Ford Excursion and grin. As I sit down, I realize my Glock 26 in my 5.11 pants are getting a little tight, after a few too many freedom fries. As long as my wrist still fits in my paracord bracelet, I'm fine.

 

Heading down to the local gun store I buy a case of wolf steel case 223, because the 15 cents per round they want for the brass stuff is highway robbery. I'm positive this won't lead to any extraction issues in my colt that has a carbine gas system on a 16" barrel. They also have some really cool looking neon green zombie handguards so I pick those up too. It'll go great with my NCStar red dot and flashlight.

 

LT smaller and most importantly lighter package (weight is the harder argument to overcome)
Passenger side cause if I'm parked curbside somewhere at a trailhead etc I can deploy canopy for shade.

 

Get a quad rail, the grip pod will look sick

 

Driver side is the best in my opinion because I like being able to get in and out of the driver seat with a cover overhead. Im not sure if the smaller awning reaches this far but the HD stretches way out front. It was awesome when setting up/tearing down camp in rain or blasting sun. I could pack my whole camp setup and have the truck ready to go leaving only the awning until last. Was just nice getting in and out, starting the rig, organizing the cab of the truck to head out etc. Theoretically you could do most of this from the passenger side I guess.

The extra coverage from the HD awning is enough to make me never go back. There is truly "livable" space underneath it, whereas with the LT awning I think youll find you cant actually get true coverage anywhere, especially if its raining. I think its a total game changer. It is heavier 70lbs versus 40, but thats wasnt even a consideration for me.
