Agreed but there is that one stroke out of every 90 or so that you really get ahold of one and can find it!

I’ve had casts where you’re fly is just about to hit the water and you can see the fish jump out of the water and go for it, yeah it’s worth every penny . Even the ones where they spit it out are pretty cool.

I used to love fishing, knowing where to cast, what baits to use for the type of fish and conditions, the wind in the pines and the lapping of the water.

Then I realized i didn't like to eat fish anymore. And I didnt need another hobby to dump money into

But now my kid wants to go fishing...sigh

I remember a backpacking trip with the scouts, high in the Sierras fishing for wild golden Trout.
We got to the upper lake, the only one you could keep what you catch, and we set up. I spent over an hour showing how to tie lines and found a nice shady spot with some big rocks and a log, deep down.

The scouts thought that was a bad spot and went to the wide open, sunny spot.

After my 3rd fish, they all moved around me...lol

I explained why the fish would be at my spot, it was a good lesson for them.

    They ate my fish, btw.

Good evening everybody. It was supposed to rain today but they have pushed it until tonight and tomorrow so I spent the day doing yard work. I’m ready for bed now.

@jwctaco I had one of these after I finished in the yard. I like the Oberon better but I haven’t seen it down here in a long time.

The Two Hearted is pretty potent, I like the Oberon , probably my favorite, and the novelty of a seasonal availability. I really don’t drink all that much, “ most “ of the time my wife and I share a Two Hearted, most of the time

Some beautiful country down that way. I try to spend a week down there every year.

This morning I spent a bunch of time cleaning up messy wiring from the past decade. It started with trying to figure out why my ARB compressor wasn't working. Got that sorted, cleaned up the wiring, and kept cutting. I cut all of this wire out of the truck this morning.

Then I took the kiddo for a drive in the woods and cooked some chicken brats on the little propane grill I like to take on trails. Great day. Beautiful weather.
