    No I'm not heading to Boulder. I don't really roll with that crowd. I'm a simple mountain monk. It's more a meditation thing. I was going to head down to the 1st annual 4/20 festival at "America The Beautiful" park in Colorado Springs ... a smoke-free event if any locals are interested - it's going on until 8:30p - http://www.subculturepromo.com/?p=104 ... but it's a nice, cold, foggy day up on the mountain so I'll probably just stay in.

    In honor of this day, however, I wanted to list some great resources for those interested in the study & use of entheogens ("in the strict sense, [an entheogen] is a psychoactive substance used in a religious, psychotherapeutic, shamanic, or spiritual context." - Wikipedia)

    Plants of the Gods: Their Sacred, Healing and Hallucinogenic Powers by Richard Evans Schulthes, Albert Hoffman & Christian Ratsch (a very nice, readable, full color encyclopedia-style book).

    The Encyclopedia of Psychoactive Plants: Ethnopharmacology and Its Applications by Christian Ratsch (Plants of the Gods is the "light" version of this master encyclopedic work .. 944 pages of hardcovered bliss. It is a massive reference work)

    Psychoactive Sacramentals: Essays on Entheogens and Religion edited by Thomas Roberts. (a great book if you can find it - you can also read excerpts, view the TOC and learn about the Council on Spiritual Practices, which published the work, and their ongoing research efforts here ... http://csp.org/ps/PS.html)

    Flesh of the Gods: The Ritual Use of Hallucinogens edited by Peter T. Furst

    And of course....

    The Emporer Wears No Clothes - The Authoritative Historical Record of Cannabis and the Conspiracy Against Marijuana - the magnum opus of the late, great Jack Herer. The history in this book is amazing .. and the depth of hypocrisy and depravity of those involved in the criminalization of cannabis, and it's industrial cousin hemp will shock you.

    ROFLMAO :rofl::rofl:

    If he's made of it, maybe he should partake of a little cannibalism. Certainly will help the grouchiness. Just make sure Cookie Monster isn't around .. that dude's always bogarting the stash.

    By choice, or due to job, family etc.?

    I don't drink anymore, 5yrs., by choice. No cigs either, 12yrs. It's all I got left and usually it's a oner out of a dugout! I don't like getting wasted, just mellowed!:D

    Just generally college students are more apt to smoking pot. But talk about buzz kill... today im walking back from my class and i cut a short cut between buildings and two jack asses are smoking pot... I dont care a whole lot so i walk by right as the police walk around the corner.. So i get accused of smoking pot. Took 45 minutes to convince them i wasnt involved.

    ohh well you got stuck in a shitty predicament and you're taking it out on pot because its the easiest thing for you i guess when its in reality no ones fault. the stoners didn't try to get you in trouble and the cops were just doing there jobs and you happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. pot isn't the blame here, bad luck is all.sorry cops busted your chops for nothing tho.
