I was ok with the deegs pass. Davies did leave that corner open. The suck it was weird. Did make the racing better to watch.

Same with the 450 race. I was pretty much yelling at webb to get going towards the end of the race. Cooper was probably yelling at Webb too.

Justin Cooper really messed up this last race for the fans by being the ultimate teammate and holding back Mookie. Could have been a winner takes all scenario in the 450 class in Salt Lake.

I was getting pissed that he didn't go for the pass. Title fight yeah. Think Cooper didn't want the drama from the team and take away from a guarantee championship. It could have been a Cooper, Mookie, Webb finish. For the fans definitely would have made salt lake a better race to watch. Just like Tomac Sexton 22 MX at Pala.

I didn't know that the stats behind the Deegan Championship. For example if Deegan doesn't race salt lake and Davies gets first. It would tie the points up between the 2 and tie the number of race wins. Guess the deciding factor was that Deegan has more podium finishes. The odds of that Deegan doesn't race are pretty slim, but still an interesting stat.

Cooper was there to protect Webb. This was a Team manager/Yamaha decision. I'm sure this was discussed before the race, and Cooper never intended to pass his championship point leader/ teammate. Was really a textbook play.

Deegan would have passed him and sent him off the track doing it. He can suck it!

I hope we see that next year. :D
You guys have gone soft. It was just a little tap in the corner. The stupid tough block caused the most problems and lost positions. Barcia used to hit guys way harder every race.

Davies rides smooth and technical but doesn't always have great track awareness. He gets in a zone as see ya! but he seems to not have that extra little to give it when not in clean air. Just has his groove and speed and works or doesn't, and it usually works. Hopefully that comes with experience. I was good with the pass, Deegan didn't put him on his ass sliding in which he easily could have, just unfortunate how long it took him to get back up. I was hoping he could have rolled down and got back on and still podiumed. Not to say Deegan isn't an ass. Cause he is. But it looked like clean but aggressive racing. Anderson and Barcia have done worse this season. And I liked the suck it, f you come and take it if you don't like it. On brand.

I was hoping Cooper playing blocker would slow him down and Mookie could have got a 2 for one, then Cooper could have gone for the win. Make it a winner take all last race of the season basically tied on points at the top. Just a cooler scenario for the final race of the season. Plus Cooper was ripping and deserved the shot at his first win of the season.

Except Barcia didn’t do it to his own teamates! It’s not just the pass it’s how he acted afterwards that is the really messed up part.

It’s not a team sport. The riders have a very short career and need to make all they can from it. Justin Cooper should have passed Webb and went for the win. He could find a new ride if Yamaha got pissed. Now he’s the guy that hasn’t won anything.

I agree "Team" is a very loose term. They ride for the same sponsor, but they are individuals. Going for individual glory. Exactly how Deegan AND their team manager said, at that point there's a championship on the line. What if he hadn't done it and crashed out, or crashed out next weekend and lost the title bc he was being nice? Nah, bang him and get that win. Wasn't dirty, happens every weekend. I think Deegan prob does it that way even if the title wasn't on the line, but again I'm still good with it. Assholes gonna be assholes, Davies should know better.

Cooper slightly different bc he's not in the title race, he was fast enough he would have gotten the win. just left it too late. Had that happened halfway through the main I don't think he would have sat behind him the whole race. Talk about mister almost this year. He's fast, but next year all the players are back so might not get too many opportunities like that again. he was ripping.

maybe was all talk in the moment, but team manager said it was appropriate. They aren't going to drop Deegan for pitting a teammate and winning the title. They know exactly who they have in Deegan, this should surprise no one. Plus he just brought them a title. Will make Davies more resilient going forward.

I guess the AMA has gone soft according to all Deegan fans…

Deegan got a written warning for aggressive riding and a code of conduct violation fine

actually surprised they gave him a written warning.

Hit was soft. The fact it was his teammate and the podium speech afterward was about as much as you could expect. Can’t wait for that kid to get slaughtered in 450s

Slaughtered by who? He could probably beat most of the current 450 guys on his 250.
