You can do a living roof but you have to know what you're doing, including having a professional design the structure for the increased weight, and seeding with plants that will outgrow the stuff you didn't want like trees.

Chicago has done amazing living roofs that are designed to support migratory birds en route which is cool, but they are really expensive.

    Morning.
    It’s still raining.
Not gonna lie. Was hoping to get some fishing in. Boats been ready for a month.
Outside work has been seriously delayed.
    Been a lousy spring.
Suppose to have 3 dry days in a row.
House has to dry out for some work.
Just not in a good mood.
At least I have ball work to keep me occupied…
    Stay safe all

    Yeah Mike...sure has been wet.
Used the one dry day this week to mow, power wash our deck and grill 7lbs of chicken.
Treated myself to a new helmet bag that has a lower compartment to hold my head restraint device.

Enjoy your weekend folks and Happy Mothers Day tomorrow if you are one, have one or played a role in someone becoming one.

Good morning Mike and the rest of the gang.

It got cold enough last night that the heat came back on and I had to plug in the electric oil radiator heater in the masters chamber.

I have a dump run this morning, the firewood truck is stuffed to the roof of the cap with tree braches and other compostable debris. I haven't driven it in a few weeks, I hope that there's some gas left in it from the trip to Carlisle.

Good morning. I guess I'll just run errands today, and we're dog sitting for our neighbors. We were going to do a deep clean in the house but with extra dogs around that's not going to happen. There's always tomorrow though.

I ordered everything I need for oil change, coolant change, air filter, and spark plugs, so that's next weekend! Going to do the transfer case and differentials at the end of the month too.

Consider changing the front diff drain plug to the Lexus plug. 14mm hex instead of the 10mm female hex

That’s one of my fav threads. All the grinding and welding to get the plug out. I’ve done hundreds of services and have never, ever, had to cut, chisel, bang or weld anything to the plug to get it off. Never stripped one out.

Gonna do that on my Tundra. I believe it's the same lexus part # from my limited research.

Once I break one of those petrified locking tabs ( I swear the 'Yoda ones are even worse than the GM ones) I use a dab of 'Shoe Goo' to keep the connector connected. It won't vibrate off but the next schmuck that has to fix it can get it apart again.

As I was leaving the dump this morning, I cruised past the scrap metal pile. There was a brand new tow-behind lawn aerator, so I hopped out of the cab, dropped the tailgate and tossed it into the bed. I didn't get 2 feet back towards the cab when bubba-bumpkis rolls up in the county truck and tells me to toss it back in the pile. I tried for a minute to convince him that it would be better to have that in my shed then the county scrap pile but he wasn't budging and it wasn't worth the hassle to crack him in the face and drive off with it, so I just pulled it out of the bed and left it there.

    Damn dump cops !

I did my plugs for the second time recently at 60K. At my 3 or 4K a year I may never do them again

    Before

    IMG_9010.jpg

    After

    IMG_9012.jpg

Pretty rough before I started . These were run hard and put away wet.

The good thing is, grinding and cleaning produced the pattern unlike others I have to try to match.
So the repairs look 3D/Reflection instead of a slightly mismatched color. You can see a repair by the rear hoof.

These are going to be used hard.
