My hometown of Columbia, MS has a large white squirrel population due to a past governor. It was the state capital once upon a time and he introduced them to his homestead and city park.

The only things good about squirrels is trees grow from their stashes and they taste good to all kinds of critters including me.

Found an old car and various other bits on a local hiking trail a while back.

Logically, I know that when I find an old bottle while digging for treasure that still has the lid on it with something in it, I shouldn't sniff the contents. But I can't help it. You just gotta sniff right? Asking for my friend of course

I did the sniff test on some old bottles I found when I was a kid. One was H2SO4... and I learned to be more careful.

Here's a couple pictures of what is left of an old growth redwood in Miranda, CA with notch visible, and kids for scale. There was a grove just to the north that was mostly spared the axe, but this area wasn't and it definitely had a graveyard vibe to it.

I really want to head south and see the red wood forests, just haven’t been able to make it work out. Nice find on your end and I’m glad to see others bringing their kids out to the woods too!
