I was reading earlier how Korea’s population is collapsing and it’s gonna be like 90% old people in 50 years. I think we’d be in a similar situation if it weren’t for immigration. Gen Z just can’t afford to have kids, at least I certainly couldn’t. I couldn’t even keep my truck on the road.

 

I couldn’t afford kids either in my 20s. Didn’t start until I was 35. Same is true for most other Millennials I know that have kids

 

Yeah having my first at 24 and 2nd at 26 was a bit of a challenge to sort out.

I can't even see a path to enough financial security that a child could even be a future plan. Plus that poor kid, inheriting this world... nah lol

 

Im getting ready to put my first down. Dog just got diagnosed with bone cancer. And any thing they can do would just mask the pain. He lived a good 9 years.

Yeah the day after i saw you he just started acting lethargic. So i took him in for xrays and blood work and it came back worse than we wanted.

they said they can try doing stuff for him but its only going to just mask the pain. I rather not see him suffer just so we can have him longer. Or it progress i to paralysis.

the pain meds hes on now help but you can still tell hes in pain.

Yeah it sucks. But the last thing i need is for him to be in so much pain one day he lashes out on the kids.

That's what we did with Bronx - why prolong something that's just going to get worse (or not come back from).

Guess the only good thing is that the little ones won't really process it the way we would I guess, being so young?

 

Yeah i think they would hardly notice the loss.
