you just earned yourself some cool points, Portishead fucking rules. I had a big trip-hop/alternative indie phase when I was in school years ago, Massive Attack is great to listen to when you're editing for hours on end

Back at my work computer for a few minutes...was given the green light by the owner to borrow whatever studio equipment I need while we're in this downtime. Coincidentally, given the news this AM he expects we'll be back at normal operations within a couple weeks so that's promising.

Though the feeling of how quickly it all crumbled has stuck with me and I think I need to start working on a backup plan regardless

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Happy to hear they gave a possible timeline at least. I'd hope whomever steers the company is exploring options for if this sort of thing keeps occurring (history says it is likely to crop up every 90 days or so)

I really liked Beth Gibbon’s solo album from last year too.

Ok so an update to this - insurance called to confirm my physical address and here's the latest.

They are sending me a check for $1,9xx which is their own estimate for replacing my bumper, discarding the old, and getting the new one painted.

I already know the answer to this but still want others to chime in - since I had intended to sell the GX anyway to get a Tacoma, it would only make sense to sell the GX as is (albeit, maybe a grand less) and just pocket the check?

I definitely don't see my GX selling for $2k less because of the accident, but I also don't see the GX maintaining/getting more just for replacing the bumper when all the rest of the paint is pretty faded (and being a 2003).

This is all before I submit my own diminished value claim. I doubt I'll get much, but you get $0 if you never ask.

You won’t get any more for fixing it… However, I wouldn’t lower the price either, just be more flexible in negotiation. For a twentyish-year-old vehicle that damage looks like an afterthought to me.

maybe buff it up a little bit so it doesn’t look so fresh?

I know I won't get anymore, but yeah you're basically seeing it the same way I am. Not worth investing into it. Thanks for confirming that with me!

As for the price, yep I'll keep it the same once I get around to replacing the knock sensor! Just meant on here in case Nick ever wanted to get into an SUV again. I'd knock a grand off what I was initially asking.

Also, Beyerdynamic's arrived to replace my HD650's since they've been broken for a minute. The Steelseries are ok, but it's really the DAC that makes them shine.

    Plastic headbands suck.

Damage doesn't look to bad might be able to get away with just giving it a little love and sale as is

Just seeing if people agree with my assessment that it's better to leave the vehicle un-repaired, especially since I plan to get rid of it.

    :fistbump:

I'm sure a buyer would appreciate a fresh wash and a vacuumed interior

I meant what were you going to be asking for a price before all this
But I agree I'd pocket the 2k, list the same as before, and be open to knocking 1k off if the prospective buyer complains about the damage

    Ahh sorry I misunderstood!

Was gonna list for $8k and take $7,500 initially so now I'd be alright going from $8k to $6,500.

It still has a clean title right? That seems like a solid deal for how clean and rust free it is. I also love the color.
