I’ve only put 5k miles on my truck since I bought it and I already have to replace the windshield ‍♂️, I’ve called around all the auto glass shops and even Toyota and no one seems to have it , has anyone had this problem?

I had to get my windshield replaced a month ago with 4K on the truck. No issues getting a new windshield BUT I am ok not having the little Morse code dots on it.

A reputable shop should be able to give you an eta for an oem windshield or aftermarket piece.

I replaced mine at about 15k, almost at 25k now. The oem one seemed to chip super easily. Aftermarket tbd :fingerscrossed:

Is that the brand of the aftermarket windshield?

I’ve tried every local shop and they only recommend the oem one because they say they’re suppliers don’t make aftermarkets yet but the oem is on back order too ,so I’m not sure what to do

Well, if they can't source one due to back order you'll just have to wait. Have you tried searching a larger radius with a zip code farther away to see if one is in stock?

I’ll probably just wait it out but it sucks having a new truck and it having a huge crack on the windshield , if anything I’ll try calling some shops further away

Happened to me a few months back. Big rock hit the windshield (construction on I80 Fairfield/Vacaville CA) right at my line of sight. I was in tears... I didn't want to replace it and asked them to repair it. Didn't work, the repair left the windshield distorted, so I had it replaced. The company is Safelite AutoGlass. They administer the AAA insurance windshield repair process. They found me an oem windshield (I didn't want another) and did a great job with the installation. Highly recommended.

Whatever you get. Make sure you get the acoustic glass for better sound deadening!

How long did you have to wait to get it installed?

They called it OEM. It’s the brand on the windshield. Big Sky Autoglass in Helena handled the repair for me and there was maybe 2 days delivery time from the warehouse. You might try calling them - perhaps they know who stocks them? It’s hard for me to believe that getting this done in Montana is faster than CA - everything is usually slower up here.

Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
Safelite has done 2 for me and there are great. USAA works with them too.

I think they are nationwide too.

Within a week or two. Timing/appointment was based on my schedule and they came to my home. Also, remember to ask them to add a primer they apply to the metal areas scratched during the removal of the sealant. Prevent potential rust issues, regardless of how much silicon they apply.

I got myself a nice new crack yesterday, and Safelite says 2024 Tacoma is not eligible for mobile repair. I'm a bit confused by that.

Recalibration of the camera is needed. Needs to be done in a controlled environment.

Broken glass is nothing to cry over.....unless you get injured. Good that you're ok.

Just got mine done last week. 750 for oem toyota plus all the other dealer fees. Ins paid but if i have to do it again im looking into aftermarket. I would really like to measure the thickess of the oem and compare to the aftermarket solutions.
