    hm good point.
    It might be a non issue as it is, I'm just figuring it out as I go and a step colder t-stat was going to be my next approach if temps don't stay consistent in the summer.

    What a "normal" temperature swing to shoot for? Highest I saw was 195 on the drive home in traffic. Lowest was 188.

    No expert, but considering the factors at play +/-4 degrees is pretty good
    I can monitor mine a bit closer to satiate curiosity

    Back from vacation, haven't had any issues whatsoever with the e-fan setup. Been keeping mine cool and keeping the AC producing well when the truck isn't moving. Barely ever gets over 194* and that's only because I have that as the last step in the gradient before it really starts to scale up speed since the waterpump speed makes sure at idle it stays around 194 with a factory t-stat anyway

    Ok well that's a helpful benchmark. As long as I'm not getting above 200 I think it'll be okay.

    Slightly above 200° shouldn't be much of an issue on a hot day with ac. A SC 5vz local to us that I tuned is on 46" tires and 5.39 1 ton axles through an auto, he regularly sits around 200-205 since it has so much load on it just to move. He doesn't seem to have an issue there. I put a 170° thermostat in my 3rz, believe I got it on rock auto. Cruising and idling I usually sit at 177-180° and when it gets "warm" I see 187-189° with my e fan curve. Never above that though. I might see 190+ if it was a hot day and I was pulling a long grade at freeway speeds though.

    I have some vacuum leaks from the sandwiched spacer-adapter I had made for converting the Bosch 60mm e-throttle to the factory intake manifold, and I just acquired a new P1S 3D printer the other week, so threw this together from the template I already had and thinking I'll grab some PA6-CF if this PETG prototype lines up and run it instead. Threw a large thread on the inside because why not try to add a bit of turbulence since the entry point right before it is a 90* turn.

    Ribbed for its pleasure. If you're gonna run an abrasive filament like PA6-CF be prepared with spare parts for your machine just a heads up.

    Kills your feed gearset too, try your hardest to dial the feed and retract amount perfectly if its a long print because knocking on those filaments dulls the brass pretty bad

    There shouldn't be an issue locking up the TC in lower gears at very low load or decel, right?
    Like right now it only gets locked in 4th after a certain speed. If I'm running errands/stop and go or whatnot, there are many times I might not reach that. So if I could lock it during any low static load or decel event, that could help mpg.

    We set it up to also lock in 3rd with the same unlock conditions as 4th and it seems happy, but I'm not sure you would want it in 1st or 2nd. 2nd might be reasonable if you can set different conditions, but from what I read, the lock up isnt that strong in the a340.

    I'm pretty sure the bad fuel mileage is in your ignition timing map. Maybe post up your current map for others to critique. If your timing map now looks anything like the map in the treyus30_2024-12-07_0210pm.e2500-3-11-3 file, then you're timing in your cruise cells are in like the high teens to low twenties. Too low.

    I have found that the TC lockup on mt setup seems pretty powerful. At least from a trans temp cooling perspective.

    I am running 4.88s with 33s and an external fluid cooler. So far the temps are very reasonable and respond will to the TC lockup.

    First, I was referring my setup, not an mt setup. And I was responding to what Jayson said about what he had read regarding the TC on the A340. He may have been referring to the physical strength of the TC itself but my response was more about it's effectiveness with regards to cooling down the fluid temps.
