I think this just goes to show that the restrictions in these engines are indeed not in the manifolds as originally thought. They are in the exhaust from the Y pipe setup and on back. Though I personally always did think that anyways.

    Ditto to this.
I got similar boost numbers to Tego with the same Volant intake, cam gears, but with a 2.8” pulley + stock headers & y pipe! Borla exhaust. Down in SoCal at sea level

All of my data shows the opposite. There's < 5g/sec (peak) loss putting the stock y pipe and exhaust back on after equal length headers.

I can't leave anything well enough alone
Not that it changes anything in the data you have, but wasn't your comparison done on your truck in NA form? might be bigger number in blown application but I bet the trend is still the same. I would still side with your conclusion, a proper header will free up pumping losses and improve flow/efficiency far more than any mod downstream, or any catalytic converter, etc. So long as the downstream equipment is working correctly.

Im also curious although my adventure with the pulley press tool has taken some wild turns today. I'm not a fan, and I only have the pulley pressed on halfway. Not sure what I can do to finish the job, threads on the small stud things are not surviving the fight.

Editing to add - I'm not going to do it yet but man I really wanna just use my deadblow hammer to finish it out. Only have about maybe 3/8" left to press it on. I mean. "Press". Also not doing that unless I get an agreement that it's a good idea, I don't want to beat up the inside of the charger. But it does feel like that shaft has zero play in and out, extremely tight.

It may feel good in the moment, but I’m guessing it’s no good for those bearings inside…

Thanks. Just trying to cook up some sort of solution.

Current status is, checked the inner threads on the SC pulley shaft with a spare bolt that had the proper sizing - coincidentally, the bolt that held the old stock intake on I believe. Those threads - good. Threads internal on the install tool - smoked. Not sure where to go from here. I could use a long bolt with some washers, but that puts the strain on those inner threads on the pulley shaft and that's probably a bad idea. I wish there was something for a press tool to grab onto that wasn't just a bunch of threads!

More edit - found a spare stud, most likely something removed during the SC install - it worked. Pulley is on. Now I just need to solve my coolant problem, no I will not explain that just yet. Too annoyed about it.

But also THIS is a thing. The electric pump for the SC coolant just kind of... goes on every once in a awhile. Runs for maybe 60 seconds, then turns itself off. Bad relay? No keys in ignition, truck just sitting there cold. So bizarre.

If you have it hooked up per the magnuson instructions, it will do that.
The fuel pump relay or whatever it’s hooked to periodically runs to test itself and the fuel tank for pressure / leaks.
You now just hear the s/c pump lol because it’s louder than the emissions pump near the fuel tank

Thank you man! Appreciate the heads up.

Lots of quiet to hear the pump yesterday. And the leak. I nicked my radiator dropping that press tool, it backed off and I hadnt realized it. Pulley is on and good now, I could fix that pinhole leak but, its a 15 year old radiator. I wasn't planning on it but I suppose it's time for the csf. I was going to do it at some point. Gives me a chance to replace the remaining collant hoses anyways, oil/throttle body etc.

you can wire it up better to not do this on 2012-2015 trucks with the SAIS…

I don't mind it if it's got a purpose. If it is going to wear that pump out faster though, I may just wire it differently.

There's a thread floating around that shows how to re-wire but I cannot seem to find it...

The pump should be fine for a long time. If you never drive the truck may want to connect a battery tender but I don't see the pumps going out a ton (not saying it wont but not a common issues)

Ooh boy. This is going to be fun. What all did you receive with the supercharger? Photos are going to be the most helpful.
You’ll need some type of higher flow injectors. They don’t have to be the specific ones to the kit, but then I believe you’ll need a different tune.
Also, either way, you’re going to need a tune for your truck and the recommendation is one from Overland Tailor Tuning (OTT) https://overlandtailor.com/

I ended up just rewiring it to an ACC ON fuse so it turns on only when the truck is turned on. Maybe it's just me, but I encountered a couple other issues with the tie-in per magnuson's instructions. I think it's tied into the EFI fuse? I can't remember, but I removed that tap and applied a better one on a different fuse.

Yes it’s on the EFI fuse. I recommend expanding my quoted post. All the info is in there…
