    Yep of course!

Never owned a salvage title vehicle - I'd hate to have one and have an accident only to not be covered. Guess that'd be ok if a vehicle was strictly for off-road use only.

Oh yeah I won't even make mention of it, I mean shit that's the sort of stuff that happens at a parking lot even.

Just lucky I guess that the damage was purely cosmetic on an already faded bumper.

What about finding a color matching junkyard bumper
Might be a stretch but if you got lucky it could be a good solution

Speaking of luck, I'm pretty sure I just got a free $1,300 upgrade for my table too based on my phone conversation earlier and the email I got afterward.

To summarize, I got 3 parts incorrectly machined with my table that are preventing me from completing assembly. Actually found out Friday afternoon so I had to wait out the weekend to get back to STV - didn't matter we've been crazy busy all this last week anyway.

Well, they're going to send out some new motors and plates with the plates pre-assembled on the motors. Robert at STV was really apologetic and stated that this is a huge QC issue and that the parts I received should've never made it to any customer's hands.

    Here's the part to give y'all a visual -

    20250510_183856.jpg

During our conversation, he muttered gear reduction, sending a kit assembled, etc and I was just kind of listening and all.

We get off the phone as he says he's going to physically put hands on parts, and get them shipped to me ASAP.

Shortly after I get a warranty invoice and tracking for their Gear Reduction Kit. He sounded serious when he saw my pictures and saw the plates were indeed out of spec but man, seems he really wanted to make up for the inconvenience!

So I guess I'm getting a huge upgrade to my table.

Huge stretch, Toyota and Lexus vehicles don't last

I'll have even less time to actually hit up a junkyard if one did appear anyway - can't go taking a 2 year old to grab a bumper :bananadead:

@BartMaster1234 I will never forget the summer of 1980. Not really because of the Titan II disaster, but because of a record heatwave, drought, and forest fires.

I remember going water skiing on Thanksgiving weekend the water was so warm that year.

Wouldn't even be able to get through the door, much less actually entertain a toddler while uninstalling a rear bumper and then carrying it back with me with a kid that's gonna be demanding food.

Yeah no, there are some things you just don't do.

All for a used bumper that will cost money, time wasted, and a whole lot of frustration with no actual return on investment. If anything it's a lose lose

I'm pocketing the monies and getting to the knock sensor whenever I feel the urge to be in pain :bananadead:

Once the motors arrive, then comes the labor of running all the wires and connecting everything up.

    20250512_163450.jpg

Followed by installing the water table (two parts), running silicone between them, and letting the whole thing cure.

I'm opting to brush the entire inside of the waterbed with flex seal after the silicone cures the same way my friend did on his 5' x 10'. The stuff lasted the entire time he's had it and he put an easy couple of thousand hours in cutting within a year alone.
