Congrats on the new ride! I don't think you'll be disappointed in the least. I think you both will be pleasantly surprised with how easy it will now be to go on much longer rides comfortably.

Took the Burgman out for it's first longer ride yesterday, no real issues. Must have had a couple bubbles in the cooling system though because as soon as we went to a parking lot for some practice it got a little hot. I figured it was going to so I was keeping an eye on the temp gauge, so we were able to park in the shade pretty immediately after it overheated. Me being the genius I am, I remembered to pack extra oil but completely forgot coolant, so we swung back by the shed and grabbed some extra.

Howdy. Hope everyone is deep into their riding season. I haven't dropped in for a bit. Too much going on for forum time. Travel for work. College graduation for one step kid and a wedding coming up for another. Relatives visiting. yadda yadda yadda. STILL NO GRiSO to ride....coater is not my favorite person.

@Calamity_taco. Dude. You're gonna have a ball on that bike. Congrats. What else have I missed?

I searched to see if any of you posted and couldn't find anything...anyone doing the DGR (Distinguished Gentlemens Ride) in their neighborhood this weekend? It was a major pain in the ass given the limited space at my new place, but I was able to get one of my old bikes cleaned up and running well for the event. I really never touched a bike other than the GRiSO last year, so it took a little. A simple speedo cable replacement turned into a major project due to yours truly.

So who's riding, and what bike are you gonna use?

    This is Gina...

@kidsmoke , is the Guzzi back together? Was curious if you've started scoring any GLMC points just yet.....

Hey man. NO! not that one, anyway, as you can see. I registered with the GRiSO or I'd just start racking it up with the G5. Hope to have the headers back this week and start on that project in earnest the next...you'll be the first to know.

The muffler is titanium, hand built in single digits in the italian alps...hard to come by and expensive. Already coated and not gonna be messed with. I was assured they could match it, noooo problem. This is what I got.

Quality hi heat coating but, no way. So back they went. I think they're pissed and just messing with me now. I remain optimistic. 2.5 months in ....

Don't wait! You can use any bike you want it doesn't have to be the bike you registered with! It's right in the rules. They don't care if you fly somewhere a rent a bike.

thanks! i took her around town real quick with all the bags and without and she likes both but finds it easier without the sadle bags. so far im very happy with it! ridding with cruise control on at 75mph is such a treat! plus the bike is smooth! no matter what i did with the bolt it always had a front end shimmy or death wobble. this bike is dead smooth and you really dont feel bumps with it! so far im very happy!

also i looked into the trunk box and found the oem clutch lever and oem shifter plus the oem windscreen so i have the nice oem touring taller one on the bike currently and with it fully up it just barley hits the edge of my helmet but its so smooth!
oh interesting! when i got my bike i got three keys with it. 1 for the trunk 1 for the ignition and 1 for the boxes i guess the dude bought all the parts after he ordered it since according to a yami dealer it would be all one key? but unsure if they are correct on that.
thanks! im gonna miss the bolt but man this thing is fun and so smooth!
thanks! its a fun one and pretty one!
thanks man! its really fun so far!

@Calamity_taco, good deal getting all the stock stuff with it! The key thing is sort of weird. Normally Yamaha sells the lock set as a 3 piece kit, 2 for the side bags and a 3rd included for a top box so 1 key should fit all 3 bags. PO should have been able to order the lock set using the key code of the bike so 1 key should fit everything. Hard to say what they might have done. Wanted to share that little lock trick anyway as it's among the first mod now I do so that when traveling she can get in her bag when we stop even if I still leave the bike running.

No doubt getting on and off will be easier for her without the bags. We've already left the saddlebags off and run just the trunk sometimes. Actually got better gas mileage like that.

Congrats again! PA isn't that far to visit anymore.......LOL.

Bike just needs an IBA plate backer now....

agreed i told the dealer and they had no clue he left it in there. well the owner of the dealership didnt lol the last two times we have bought anything from dells we have dealt with the owner for some reason?
ya i thought it was odd as well but oh well i guess lol. ill for sure look into the keyless open thou thanks!

that is interesting on the mpg side of things! i gotta look around on the dash i have no clue if it has a fuel gauge somewhere or if its the typical light. still got a lot of stuff to figure out lol so gonna read the manual this weekend to see if i can figure things out.

thanks! haha a lot of things are not now with how comfy it is! idk if the gf would go that far but idk maybe i will haha.

Just as another FYI, Yamaha offers .pdf versions of the owners manuals online as a free download. Might want to have it on your phone.
