I’ve seen a couple forums for 1st and 2nd gen kill switch set ups and only 1 for the 3rd gen that only shows fuel pump wires along the frame rail, I was hoping to find a fuel pump wire location under the hood or in the cabin where I could easily just splice into and put a kill switch inside the cabin, does anyone have any experience doing this on a 3rd gen?

That just looks like it just replaced the fuel pump relay and has a ground the rest is just wiring it to where I want to go right?

Why not just tap the IGN1 circuit and put a kill switch on that?

Btw, I would not use a fuel pump relay. It dies on the way you could get suck in the middle of nowhere. Take the starter relay instead.

Because I have no idea what that is, I’m very very very rookie when it comes to electrics I know how to do basic stuff and that’s it, if you could educate me that’d be great!

How does it die? Does it just draw power all the time?

Then honestly I would take the truck somewhere to get a kill switch installed. Cutting wires on a factory loom is very risky if you aren't confident. Installing a stereo and ditch lights is one thing...cutting a factory harness and adding resistance to a sensitive circuit is another.

You think so? It’s just hard cuz there are 0 mechanics I trust in my area, I’ve been to atleast 6 shops in my area that either tried to charge me way more than what it’s worth, done terrible work, or have had my vehicle for literally months

Yes I do. I would invest in a club and a couple strategically placed air tags instead. Kill switches are usually easier to defeat if the thief knows anything about electronics. It will slow them down...sure...but so does a club and an alert on their phone that there is an air tag following them. They will usually ditch the truck instead of searching for the tag(s).

I agree I’ve just seen so many instances of peoples trucks being stolen then wrecked and I can’t bear that loss this truck means too much to me

Very easy to do with the fob. Press and hold lock and then press unlock twice. Blinks twice, it’s then shut off. No annoying faraday case to handle. It works for me and my wife. As per usual, if they really want it they will get it. Just want to slow them down or hopefully they move on. Sucks having an emotional attachment to a vehicle.

my fob is a key that unfortunately doesn’t work I have to put the key in the door to open my truck everytime , but I wanted something more convenient like the kill switch the club seems pretty annoying to deal with and not that effective

I do the same with the fob pretty much most of the time but I wonder if they can catch the codes at that moment too.

There’s times I felt paranoid and used the key to lock/unlock it.

It’s funny because I mentioned a kii switch and people using jammer/readers a while ago and somome said that’s not a thing…..at least in SoCal it is.

I remember when the club came out, it was a joke and easily defeated, funny to see it back.

I was considering a kill switch too, might still try it, AirTag sounds like an idea too if you silence it. Never tried one.

Not cutting wires with the 41.22! You replace the starter relay - be sure to use the correct one! The 2023 TRD OR needs the reverse relay. Then run the cables through the engine bay and attach the ground to a solid ground. That's it! No cutting no wires!

Nothing is perfect - not even relays... They may brake also. Seldom but would you chance your luck in a rainy crappy day?
