With just a little sanding (really, a hand file works perfect for this), I'll just need to remove a little bit of material and it'll be perfect.

The design is meant to work with Langmuir's water table and if I recall, the wall comes up at an angle.

The water table on the STV sits straight up like a box hence the slight adjustment. But these will be perfect!

 

save the "dust" from the filing / sanding and mix with a bit of acetone to dissolve, you can then brush that back on the exposed edge to fill in the infill if you break through the top walls. but with 75% infill, it would be more for looks than strength

Goes to show how little I know about plastics and 3D printing.

I'm just anxious to get my new motors and plates delivered, so for the meanwhile I'll get the plates mounted for the drag chains.

Best part is, a ton of "clips" were already removed on both my drag chains to help with installation and everything. Apparently they're a pain in the ass to remove when running cable?

Motion board is here from Langmuir so I'll have to get some measurements and see about "making" an STL file to get an enclosure made.





I don't dabble in 3D at all so should be interesting.

I will see if I can find the video tutorial I used to help make the file.. but the lid on that box is good tight fit, and not one that should be taken a part very often. but it can be done with care

Have to say, it's only after I placed the water table that I realize just how massive this whole thing is.



Every bolt hole, including the edges of the two parts, all match up perfectly. Makes sense as I haven't read anything about people having issues with leaks.

Pay with a debit card! I say this because I didn't want to deal with calling my bank and doing a bank transfer for payment (which would delay things), and STV said they'd have to do a charge (forget the percentage) if using a card as a credit card.

When I paid with debit over the phone (even if ran as credit), no transaction fee and payment was done instantly.

 

Nicely done! I think I'll stick with something a little smaller.. I've got zero experience with CNC so it'll leave me room to upgrade once I've learned more.

It's why I started small with a hobbyist plasma table. Shit spiraled from there when I began nerding out.



Just keep in mind if you start small, you'll quickly and easily outgrow it. It's why people that buy a 300cc bike end up selling it within months!

Stick around! Even though you're into wood working, you could definitely learn a few things here from all the CNC talk as it's all the same.

I've been following this thread from day one HAHA

 

This thread began pretty much when I had just gotten rid of the small table, and moved up to the Pro.

That's when I also made the switch to a Hypertherm and had that whole beveling fiasco. Some people kept telling me to just roll with it, while a few others (knowing how meticulous I am) just stuck around to see the solution.

In short, even a basic and inexpensive table can provide excellent results with the right setting up and programming. Just have to stick to it and work out all the bugs.
