Let's See Your Dogs!!

We're packing the house in preparation to sell and move, and we had to put down our two cats over the last three weeks (17 yr old litter mates). Tessa has been a little out of sorts with all the changes in the house, especially the last few days.

Sent her to day care for eight hours of play.

She hasn't moved since she got home.

 

I’m sure it’s a lot for her all at once but I’m sure she’ll love getting to know the new place!

 

She's been pretty good overall. The boxes and packing materials and general chaos just had her a little unsettled. She likes the new place and will have 2.5 acres to explore compared to our standard sub lot.

 

All of the prep for selling the house, the deep cleaning rearranging of furniture, the box factory exploding in the house have Tessa a little discombobulated. She has become the definition of a velcro dog. She normally likes her crate, but hasn't wanted in it for bed time at night. And she needs to keep direct line of sight of me almost all the time. We finish prep for photo's and stage tomorrow. Off to day care to play tomorrow. That really seemed to help last week.

 

We celebrated a 4th birthday over the weekend for our GSP. My first dog ever and it’s been a blast. Energy hasn’t dropped off yet but she’s a great dog and deserves the excessive treats my wife gives her haha.

 

Welp sadly our concern with Lilly wasn't for no reason... We dropped her off for X-rays to look at her hips and found a baseball size mass in her rib cage area and a softball sized one in the back and they are still growing it seems. The vet said they are cancer and the rear one is starting to cause issues and is speculating 2-3 months he hopes for longer but he is unsure....

thank you all. we are hopeful the meds help and we get that full time frame or a bit longer but we also dont wanna force her to stay either... until then enjoy the good times with the girls.

 

Stick Figure has Cocoa and Molly. idk that Molly is on stage as much but Coco even has a song, Cocoa de Rock.

 

I’m so sorry to hear this! I really hope the remaining time you have is so full of love and smiles for you all! Lots of treats and cuddles! It’s amazing what vets can do these days, pretty much as good as human medicine, so hopefully she will be happy and comfortable!

 

She’s happy this wasn’t a ride to the vet and it was a ride to show her off and get her a treat from the coffee stand ladies! Between puppy shots, spraining her front shoulder and eating an Amenita mushroom she and our vet are very familiar with each other. Thankfully the treatments for the mushroom poisoning have worked and she should have no long term side effects. Modern veterinarian medicine is pretty incredible and thankfully for us, the local ER vet that opened within the last year is the only one in the area able to perform the blood transfusions and dialysis she needed to make it!

appreciate it. according to my gf (she is her dog) lilly is roughly 10 years old since they dont know her true birthdate since she was found dumped as a puppy in the desert

ya the meds are making her so much happier! which hopefully she stays like that until the end date.
