Extra parts just get added to the collection. The other day, I fixed the starter on the old riding lawn mower, and I was missing parts when I was putting it back together. I put all the nuts/bolts in the cat food bowl so they wouldn't get lost. I had what I needed in the extra collection.

Yes, now I see the issue.

You drove through nice clean water, while the rest of us drove through stirred up creek sediment.

Those Group B rally cars were flippin' insane! 1.5 liter/almost 600 HP, in a car that didn't weigh much over 2500#.

Thinking more about odd cylinder engines, Renault had a (gutless) 3 cyl, something like 1.2l in the LeCar. You had to almost pull the engine to get to the rear spark plug.

A neighbor back in the early '70s had a '64 (?) Saab with a 3 cyl, 2-stroke. With engineering like that, it's a wonder Saab made it into the '70s.

What do you all do about red squirrels and your truck wiring? I am on vacation and just spent a couple nights camping up in northern Wisconsin and had a couple squirrels roam around my engine bay over night. I talked to some locals and a ranger and they all said shoot them as they destroy their cars/utvs/trucks/snowmachines. That’s what I do at home but don’t have the ability to do it out on a road trip.
I have dealt with packs rats and wood rats out west and my truck was dowsed with peppermint oil, moth balls and the special Honda rodent proof tape and these squirrels didn’t seem to give a crap about any of the stuff that works on rats.

I gave a Chipmunk a Cool Ranch Dorito for breakfast once.
    He left my truck alone.

    Same!

Yet, I was the one who wiggled the cam into that 327 Chevy in high school.

And, I've participated in numerous engine swaps, including an AW11 MR2 and my '85 Celica/Supra. It's all about being able to reassemble what you took apart.

That's what a mechanic is. Takes shit aprt, replaces the broke part then puts it kinda back together.

I thought it was clear I was joking, but yes. My dislike of the Quattro honestly comes from their usurping of the Lancia Stratos (my beloved) from the top of the rally podiums.

Beautiful! This really makes me look forward to some northern Wisconsin camping this summer! As much fun as trail shenanigans are, being surrounded by water and trees is really my happy place!
