I have a super nice '23 TRD OR Premium that I bought new and it's been great but I made the mistake of driving a '25 Taco when my truck was in for service, LOL. In one weeks time, I've now been to 5 dealerships (drove to Nashville today for work and stopped at 4 different ones) and I've driven 3 different local trucks. There's so much to like about the 4th gen and the more I look, the more I likey. :)

    What I love:
Seat comfort is amazing with the 8-way adjustment. I'm super impressed with the drivetrain and have no need for the hybrid. Longer wheelbase will provide a little more stability for towing without the truck taking up any more room in the garage. Slightly better gas mileage is also a plus.

    Package:
Being that my current truck has the 360 cam, I really want that feature which is forcing me into another TRD OR Premium(which I'm not sad about). The only thing I'd prefer not to get in the TRD OR Premium is the power tailgate.

    Color:
The only colors that appeal to me are Silver, Bronze and maybe Terra. I've seen the paint issues threads so I kind of know what to look for with that. Would the non-metallic Terra be less likely to have pain issues? Paint on my '23 MGM with 25k still looks new(I do take good care of it).

    Wheels:
I like the TRD OR wheels but kind of prefer the 18" Hybrid wheels with 265/70r18's. I don't want the hybrid so I'll have to keep an eye out for a set of those on Marketplace.

    Price:
My '23 Taco is paid off and I'm only being offered $37k for trade from my local dealer. I'm having a hard time justifying forking over $18k for the difference to get a '25. I do have the '23 for sale here on TW for $43k (KBB Private Party value).

Just sharing my random thoughts. I still have my 2000 Taco with 370k also and plan to hang onto it.

You have already decided to get a 4th gen OR with the premium package. You are good with 3 different colors. Now you just got to convince yourself the juice is worth the squeeze.

Here are 3 in TN that gets you out of dealing with the SET BS. I would think you can get 8 to 10% off MSRP.

What did you pay for your 23 OR and how many miles? You know the drill - the dealership will give you the standard BS [you're saving x amount of dollars if you trade in]. With that amount of cash ($18K), you should be close to a TRD Pro.

PLEASE! Do yourself a favor and check CarMax. A few weeks ago I sold them my 2020 TRD Sport Premium for $38,600 which was a few hundred more than I paid for it new. That justified my 2025 that should be here any day.

Wow, thanks for the info. If I buy in TN, will my local dealer still handle any warranty issues and provide the 2 years of service for free?

What's the deal with the SET BS? Thanks.

I was in the same situation with my 3rd gen - I had a 2022 with 22k miles and I absolutely love the truck, but being it was my second 3rd gen, I started to wander. When the 4th gen came out, I told myself maybe in a few years, but after driving it and looking at it more, it was a pretty substantial upgrade IMO, both in tech and powertrain.

I paid MSRP of $47k for my '23 and it has 25k. I'm willing to spend $10k or so to upgrade to the new truck. With the links that JB TN posted, that gets me closer. I kind of hate to buy from another dealer but dang, it's just business. I'm church friends with the GM of the local dealer. He gave us a heck of a deal on my wifes '21 Corolla XSE four years ago.

Yep, I purposely bought the '23 before the 4th gen came out. I wasn't a fan of the 4th gen. I've warmed up quickly.

Shop your 23 VIN to Carvana. You are in the sweet spot for what they like to buy. We have sold a few cars to them over the years.

It is a drive but check Toyota Direct in Ohio. They do not do any port add ons, extra "paint protection" BS or anything. Very good prices and they will do everything via email or text. We never even stepped foot in the dealer. They actually drove half way to our house. It is worth price comparing.

+1 on Carvana, they're offering stupid money still. 12 months and 10k miles later my RRaptor is holding steady at $1,500 under MSRP

Since you have the luxury of time, work the best deal from somewhere else and give your local dealer the opportunity to beat it.

This. Longer range; shorter turning radius; better back seats. Basically the same MPG. Who needs techmology.

I ordered it in Jun of 2022 when many dealers were charging over MSRP.

Thanks for the ideas. Carvana offered me $39200 and $40500 if I trade it to them.
