A 10-hour drive isn't far. Don't overthink this. We drove from GA into they UP last summer then turned west through Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and Montana as far as Glacier NP. Then south through Yellowstone before coming back to GA. Almost 7000 miles total. I wouldn't drive my old Tacoma that far pulling our travel trailer but it's still driven daily for trips around town and within about 100 miles. I think it would make it, but I have a newer F150 that is better suited.

FWIW I never had any hint of a problem with my CV axles, but I had my 07 with 256,000 miles on it in the shop a couple of weeks ago for another issue. I told the guy to look it over and advise me of anything that looked suspect. They hadn't caused any problems yet, but the rubber boots were torn and with that many miles he advised changing them. It wouldn't hurt to inspect them.

If your serpentine belt has 100,000 miles on it, or close to it, change it before you leave. That's not something you want to do on the side of the road with a Tacoma. They are hard to get to. BTDT and it cost me $200 to get it towed home.

10 hours? We often drive that to get to the trailhead where we start our trip ‍♂️. If your service is up to date, you don’t have any weird tire wear, pulls in the steering wheel, or alarming noises, I say get a couple Red Bulls and send it.

Do I have to take off additional components? Or is it just annoying?
