Correct, here is some stats from 2000:

"According to the National Corn Growers Association, about eighty percent of all corn grown in the U.S. is consumed by domestic and overseas livestock, poultry, and fish production .. About 12% of the U.S. corn crop ends up in foods that are either consumed directly (e.g. corn chips) or indirectly (e.g. high fructose corn syrup). It also has a wide array of industrial uses including ethanol, a popular oxygenate in cleaner burning auto fuels."

Actually, I do ignore it because most of them are where they are because of stupid choices they made and some of them are faking it because they know that they can make more money off of people giving them money, than they can with a normal job.

While much grain is consumed by animals, there are still environmental problems with vegan diets, namely pesticides and the like. Nice statistic, but I posted going in with the knowledge you'd throw that back, so sorry.

Like I said before, a point you conveniently ignored, is that if you really want to do what's best, grow your own food and/or raise your own animals.

Plants may feel pain FYI: http://www.environmentalgraffiti.com/plants/news-feeling-plants-how-sensitive-flora

IMHO, a vegan diet is a flowery way of being different - it won't make you healthier per se, but it will boost your ego and give you terrific ammunition when it comes to your 'green creds.'

but you know what?....to each his own...
if you wanna think that you are healthier than me....so be it. at least i'm enjoying my self and the food i eat.....instead of worring about what animal is crying when it gets killed so i can eat it.
i hunt. my family eats what i kill.
i fish. my family eats what i catch.
i find it funny how many vegans are so concerned about how animals are mistreated, yet they still use everyday items that are derived from animals.
i also find it hilarious how many vegans have no problem killing mice, rats, bugs, and amphibians. Isn't all life important?(in the most sarcastic type i can find).

this thread is about as worthless as any political or religious thread on TACOMAWORLD

DISCLAIMER: animals were harmed in the making of this post, and i dont care how many vegans cry about it.....
