Almost connected again today . My fault I should have made a move when I heard the first gobble . Tom came from a good distance out of a green field into the woods where I called from . He straight lined across in front of me and stood about 100 yards away and gobbled no less than 50 times . And I forgot my diaphragm calls this morning. Had my pot call and a box so there was no moving to coax him closer He finally turned and disappeared and one right behind me started gobbling,probably within 50 yards but it was all up hill with a bench (saddle) behind me and I could not see him .

 

I installed that 4x4 switch light in my truck probably like 12 years ago. Still working, no issues. Why would it not be lit from the factory?

 

I’m just saying that it’s easier to remove the switch in older trucks

 

Gonna drink myself stupid tonight so I can try and forget about things and just go to sleep.

This was rough... very rough.

Took a nap earlier. It's going to be a busy weekend. Got 3, possibly 4 cars to look at.

Got the engine 95% assembled. I still have to install the intake and water inlet (if I can find it amongst the pile of parts).
Then comes all the crap that bolts to the engine, wiring, turbos and everything associated with them.

I know its not the same by any realm, but at least we live in the age where we can hop on a video call to hear each others voices and see each other. Hopefully some planned visits on both their and your sides?

 

Honestly, I doubt they'll be back here any time soon. My dad has been itching to GTFO of here long before he retired, so I doubt they'll come back to visit for a while.

We're possibly thinking of going there this summer for a couple of weeks so I can see my grandmother, so we'll see what happens.

 

Make it happen, whatever is required.

 

Just got cleared. Resignation letter drafted, and waiting for my boss to make time so
I can deliver the news.

The insurance carrier industry is a small world. As much as I want to go off, I am going to take my Aunts advice. She was a director of hr at a big carrier and told me this:


‘Remember, the commercial ins underwriting world is a small world, so keep it friendly and professional when you give your notice - as well as if/when you are asked to do an exit interview with HR. Your reason for leaving…….”recent change in personal circumstances”. If they ask you any more about that reason just say, “it’s not something I care to discuss” Don’t give any constructive criticism about that job you hate - just get out of there cleanly. You never know who you might bump into later in your career. ‘
