I’m spending way too much time on Facebook. Literally hours a day. So, I’m going cold turkey and deleted my account which isn’t the easiest thing to do BTW. Wish me luck as I go through withdrawals :)

Never been on there, this is the extent of my social media. However my wife just recently started an account, to keep more in touch with our daughter who recently moved away. Seems our neighborhood has a page / association, so “we “ poke our noses in. :crapstorm::crapstorm::crapstorm::crapstorm: We’ve lived here 28 years, there’s some younger folks that have moved in, which is good. It’s gotten real clickie , with 3 lake accesses and who does what. A lot of lake houses have become Air B+B’s , and parking has become an issue. Should be an interesting summer :annoyed:

I originally signed up for marketplace and it grew from there. First the local town page, local car club page, etc… Now I can spend hours on it wasting the day. Daughter made a comment on how I’m always on it and it resonated that it’s taking too much of my time. There’s also things on there that can be stressing and upsetting (political crap). I just don’t need it in my life.

I was on it and hated it.

People from high school that I didn't like, wanting to talk to me. Found that all my pics were owned by Facebook. I removed my pics changed my profile and haven't been on in years.

I got it just for access to MP and in my experiences, the place has gotten almost as bad as craigslist for the # of flagrant scammers. The people that I know in real life, we keep in touch by texting/occasional phone calls or visits/GTG's when someone's in town or I'm in theirs. There's a few groups for the narrow gauge model railroading that has been nice to be a part of, but even one of those had the administrator basically tell everyone that if their "kool-Aid" was a different color than his, then that person didn't belong in his group and they weren't welcome to stay.

Hahaha. That’s right Weesa our contestant has won a 5 day 4 night stay at the Best Western Motel on the shores of the beautiful L.A. River.

I deleted my FB account 9 years ago. I was spending too much time on there also, and the cancel culture was becoming an issue. I didn’t want my personal opinions to be used by a potential employer to decide whether or not to higher me. Two years ago I created an account with a pseudonym name after my friends cut me off from using their accounts for access to FBMP. Now I’ve been considering recreating my original account. So much of my life has been spent in other places and with people I don’t really have regular contact with anymore. I know most of them are on FB. I figure I’m already looking at Ford stuff on FB, I might as well reconnect with some of the people I knew in my past who are on there. I was also invited to join a Santa :santa: group on FB. That could become a good gig to bring in some extra cash. But I’m still sitting on the fence about it. :notsure:
