Bump zones work and I’ll argue all day that unless bumping off the spindle you’re engaging hydro bumps off the lca way too soon anyways. Gonna have to run such low psi you don’t gain the benefits of the hydro bump.

goodbye ABS, hello rear line locks. of course i ran out of brake fluid while bleeding them, but i verified that they do in-fact actuate.

Surprised you went with locks over something you could modulate. Being able to modulate cutting brakes is BIG.

it's still on the table to add one. these really serve a different purpose though. the big driver for these was the the weird way i had to rount the parking brake with the links puts a hard turn in one of the cables, making the parking brake it pretty much useless. so when im at the boat ramp or need to get out of the truck off road, these will lock it up. i can also lock up one tire at a time for tight turns while crawling. can always add the hand modulated brakes for high speed stuff on top of this.

Trim tubes also really help with bump zones.

Any of you guys know much about 1st gen tundra rear axle housings… I picked one way back from a member and he’s not sure but thinks it’s from a 2001. Looking to do rear drums, is there a way to confirm if it’s early version up to 07/2002 or then latter 7/2020 up or should I just measure brake shoes to figure out?

time for 9” instead maybe haha

I will be picking up my Dynatrac ProRock 62 soon. Same OD axle tubes as the Tacoma but .313 wall thickness, will use factory drum brakes and will utilize factory speed sensors, Nodular high pinion center section, Eaton 4 pinion e-locker, 9.75" ring gear and 35 spline 1.5" diameter axles and will be 4" wider than stock Tacoma axle, WMS to WMS will be 69.6". I ordered without any brackets for a spring under setup. It can be done with all the factory spring and shock mounts in place to make it a direct bolt in.

The Dynatrac ProRock 62 can use Toyota speed sensors? Do they make a front axle that is set up to use Toyota speed sensors?

Their Pro Rock 62 rear axle (the 62 is more of an internal designation as it is an updated version of their original 60). As a rear axle yes, it allows the use of the speed sensors. This axle is still drum brake and a semi-float axle design. For a front solid axle you would have to reach out to them. JD Fab and Instagram are working on I believe a 9" axle with Tacoma axle ends with speed sensors that will be disc brake and utilize a full float unit bearing. It will however be a bit more expensive. Clarification: The JD Fab axle is also a rear axle.

@Pittsy I got a question about your ls swap. Were you able to keep 4wd, and if so what is your transfer case setup?

Yessir I still have 4WD. I deleted the add actuator up front, and slapped an NP261HD on my 4L80E trans. Custom driveshafts, JB Custom Fab cable shifter for the tcase, and winters shifter for the trans.

LS bug getting ya? It's super intriguing looking at LS1 and LS2 prices online. So much potential... for power and headaches haha.

Sure is haha. Im really on the fence of throwing either a procharger on the stock engine, or going LS1 with a 4l80e and a terminator x

One option is definitely more expensive than the other, but I need something that will push this big tires.

One thing that is making me nervous of the ls swap is not having creature comforts like my infotainment system (if it's even possible to keep those working
