Yes I used sandpaper to smooth out a sharpe piece of my tooth. It was that or let it keep cutting the side of my tongue. And no I'm the type once I'm awake I can't go back to sleep.

I chipped my one tooth, the pointy one on the bottom, and my wife offered to file it down if it is too jagged. I said, it's just fine.

    Fellas,

I chipped a filling on my lower back right side at the beginning of April.

There wasn't enough whole tooth to do another filling so I was given a file down of sharp edge and then scheduled for a crown fitting.

Dentist asked if I was going anywhere any time soon and I said, yes! (Going to SoCal on Apr 30)

So they fitted me with a temp and ordered a quick turnaround for the permanent crown.

    It wasn't cheap...even with 2 dental insurances...I wanna say I paid $600? (I already cried once) lol

Considering crowns run upwards to $2K (that's an over-estimate).

Anyway...one of the benefits of having a job that includes benefits + my TriCare/Delta Dental Plan.

Get your teeth taken care of...especially in our older years.

    Working on it
    I'm having a fucking drink.

So Spy, my GSD, had been acting funny for a couple of weeks. Puking the week after easter etc. Took to the vet, they gave anti-nausea meds and did a pancreatic enzyme test, wanted to do x-rays but he wasn't staying still enough. Meds seemed to help for about a week then last week his eating tapered off pretty bad. Called the vet on Monday evening to get an appointment. Didn't have anything at a time I could make until Thursday. Took it, they called me back Tuesday telling me to bring him in at 4pm for an emergency check. I'm like okay and leave work an hour early. We get there, do x-rays that are a bit fuzzy because again he won't stop moving. We decide to sedate and try again. X-rays are inconclusive. Vet is like we can send these to a radiologist and wait but he might not see anything anyway. At this point our option is do nothing or go for exploratory surgery. I go for the surgery because it feels like the right call. In surgery they find a piece of a ball had perforated his intestine. They pull the obstruction and patch him up. Want to discharge him to the emergency vet but they want 2k for a night of observations and I'm like nah he's coming home and I can bring him back tomorrow for observation. We do that. I picked him up yesterday evening and now he's home resting.

$4200 (total between all visits) and 800 miles of back and forth driving later.

On top of it all my dishwasher has died.

Dude, I'm not a very religious man but Spy is getting prayers from us. Hope he's on the mend and makes a full recovery.:hattip:

Also what emergency vet did you take him to?
