    Morning,

Wondering if any of you are fans of the hanging car cans and what you use them for and where you put them.

You may know what you're asking about, but please enlighten the uninformed TW members:
WTF is a "hanging car can"?

I don't subscribe. Useful items get stowed behind/under the backseats or placed in canvas tool bags in the bed (in the locked shell.)

A few additions to make me feel cool.
Just ask if anyone has a auto trash can. I have the cheap ones off of Amazon that hang from the headrest in my wife's car and sons truck because they are dirty little pigs! They do stuff them full of trash but rarely empty them. I do not have one in my vehicles because I throw my shit away when I exit the vehicle like an adult.

I swear I googled “hanging car can” before I memed! All I came up with was trash cans and I was really hoping it was something cooler than that.
If you want/need a trash can in your vehicle, get one? It’s not exactly like it’s a big investment…
I have always/still use a plastic bag, and hang it in the back seat from the center console. It’s free and easy to empty. It’s secured with a piece of bent scrap plastic. I think it’s an old mudflap?

Don’t use either of mine as a trashcan ever.. They also can be useful as a temporarily cooler.. given they are insulated and good for Storing clothes and or small stuff to keep organized in my SR utility tacoma with no backseats

My exact thoughts use a plastic bag, the only thing is bags are all 0.5 cents now in my local jurisdiction. They still work the same and I get something for my 0.5.

Scrubbed some tires, and knocked a dent out.
Oh. Guess I've had car cans for years then. Go on the back of the passenger head rest.

Well now I've learned a new term for an old item. It's always interesting to learn the regional variations in names of common everyday stuff.
My Taco is an Access Cab. I'm the only driver and it's usually loaded with 'stuff' in the back seat, sometimes the front passenger seat as well.
My trash "can" is the floor behind the driver's seat. It gets cleaned out periodically when I make my occasional trip to our local transfer station (formerly called the 'dump').
Usually I'm lucky enough to have thrown a bag or 2 behind the seat which helps with the periodic cleanout.

Shoot, I thought this was going to be about those obnoxious exhaust tips that make people look like they are dragging a 35 gallon trash can under their bumper.

i bought these a few months ago.
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C6XV9LV1
seemed like a good idea but people warned they did not fit right over the profile of the seat.
for little money i gambled. i lost.
i tried to make them fit better with a heat gun, deforming it to fit but success was limited.
it is 50% better now than out of the box (well made if they fit) and useable but not perfect so i live with it.
    do not buy for tacoma.
edit: Amazon says it fits tacoma. wrong.

That's what the passenger side floor is for, it holds more.

I do this really weird thing where I throw my trash away every time I get out. I think it's bougie to flaunt your wealth by keeping your trash on display. "Ohhh look at me and the marvelous snacks I ate last week."

This is my new favorite take. Seconded only to keeping books you’ve read on display, like the conquered carcasses of a trophy hunter

    +1.

Far cheaper than a specialty holder as well. And it forces me to do something about the dog hair every couple weeks

I just use the door pocket and toss what's in there every couple days. Or every gas stop on a road trip.

I have some different ones, seem to fit okay. I can try and figure out where I got them if you’re interested.
