    Yeah you can really go wild with them. It's 24g ram and 500g storage

    I don’t understand the point of maxing out the options like that on a laptop with a puny 16” screen

    I've almost always gone refurb from them over the last I'd imagine 8 years or so, maybe longer. I had a friend who worked for them tell me the refurbs were basically new overstock and that's been my experience. Just bought my mom a refurb 15" Air for mother's day actually, the thing is a screamer. (But fuck that port selection forcing her to use a dongle) They're worth it when you're running what you run in the industry you're in, which is pretty much in line with my stuff I'd imagine. I hate giving them so much money (same way I hate giving Adobe money) but the new silicon is pretty fucking impressive. Even my old M1 minis I use for misc stuff hardly break a sweat.
    I've run the gamut with Apple since the mid-late 90s from love to hate to meh to who knows what now, but for creative work it's an easy decision. I still run old ThinkPads for everything else and my old Macs get turned into Linux machines but work is still Apple, even if it aint what it used to be.

    I can't believe they even offer 8GB, it's wild. I don't see how their base Air is still a 256gb drive either and they want $200 to bump to 512. That thing is aimed at casual users and college students who are gonna max that easy.

    @6P4 @Sperrunner Any tire recommendations for mixed use? (Pavement and hard packed trail) Be nice to have low rolling resistance since I'm on tarmac more than dirt.
    **Pink Stumpjumper was super rusted/rotted inside, especially chainstays, so I'm gonna build something else but still goin 26"...with tubes.

    Came with my CNC table, so I no longer have to use my old laptop.

    Controllers for these tables have the PC-requirements equivalent to that of Minesweeper, so many people run them off a mini PC or old PC/laptop.

    Just took it out of the box to see what Linux distro it's running. Plan is to mount it behind a monitor, so I'll have to source a cheap LCD monitor on FB MP.

    @Bandido

    Langmuir hooked me up with a motion controller for their tables

    20250512_185823.jpg

    This allows me to run Firecontrol as if I was connected to one of their tables

    I'll still be able to perform demos, do screen record and screen sharing while on Zoom, etc
