Light weight wheels and tires would help too.

So… I pussed out. Between building a new house due to the floods in Florida and tricking out the boat last year I think spending $17k on the dream build is a little gluttonous.

HOWEVER… I am going to do everything leading to SC to see how contented I am with that and then circle back to the SC after I finish the house. This should run about $4k. Hoping to get slightly under 300hp/320trq with this. Will get a dyno done after install and tune (eta 5/31; proof is in the puddin’ as they say ya dig).

    Build list:
    1. URD TRUE COLD AIR INTAKE, 05-15 Tacoma 4.0L V6 ×1
    2. URD Exhaust Cam Gears, 4.0L V6 ×1
    3. aFe OEM Pro5R 1GR-FE 05+ Tacoma, 03-15, FJ-4Runner 4.0L ×1
    4. Injen Pre-Filter, X-1012, X-1013, X-1014 RED ×1
    5. URD 05-15 Tacoma V6, Fuel Pump/Filter Upgrade Kit ×1
    6. Denso IKH22 Power Iridium Spark Plugs ×6
    7. URD Performance Thermostat for 1GR-FE 4.0L V6 ×1
    8. Denso Oxygen Sensor 234-4139 ×1
    9. AEM 30-4110 Digital Wideband O2 Air/Fuel UEGO Gauge Kit ×1
    10. HD High Performance Radiator, 2005-2023 Tacoma ALL ENGINES ×1
    11. JBA Headers, Tacoma 05-11 V6, FJ Cruiser 07-09, 03-09 4Runner V6, Tundra 05-06 V6 ×1 (they were out of the URD one)
    12. aFe Exaust, 05-2012 Tacoma 4.0L V6 ×1
    13. aFe POWER 76mm Throttle Body, 2003-2009 4Runner and FJ, 2005-2015 Tacoma V6 ×1
    14. New OTT tune (moving from spicy to extra spicy)
    15. Will start using 91 octane
    16. Red Bullet Modified VVT-i Solenoids
    17. New AFR sensor and gauge
    18. New AGM battery and terms
    19. New injectors (anyone got a good rec?)
    20. Silicon radiator hoses
    21. Ratiotek HD Kit

Anyone think a new pump for the radiator is worthwhile?

Anywho, have the SC list for the future so we’ll see how long before I get bored :spending:

Edited your list. Not trying to be a piece here but a lot of this stuff doesn't really matter. Saving some $$$ and take your lady to a nice dinner.. NA is going to peak out somewhere in the 250 range.

My setup makes me want a X runner. 35s with 488s is quick but the drivetrain hates it.

How do you like your 4.88 and 35’s? Auto or manual??

Auto, turns 2600 rpm at 70mph. Can't floor it from a stop or it tries to roast the tires and the back end bounces around. In the rain with the locker the truck is borderline dangerous.

Yes very happy, I would never recommend anything other than 4.88s. 430s/456 are a waste in my opinion. 300 rpm difference isn't going to change anything short or long term.

it’s all good as I said anticipate going through with the SC at some point in which case these wouldn’t be throwaways but rather accretive to overall power.

Anyhow, my Taco also has “that dog in him” (very low KCLV, detonation, a rabid family of possums) so I’ll be sure to dyno regardless to serve as another data point.

5.29's are fairly common where I am.

That will be the flow: pre-nebulous-HP-adding upgrades, post-nebulous-HP-adding upgrades, then Magnusson (going this way as desire the low end power more)

It’s super fun now with the supercharger on 35’s, let alone regeared. Think I’m going to go with 4.88’s, hoping by fall.

Truck problems the FJ just lifts a wheel. :bikewhoops:

Same 35s on 4.88, it's ok but I could go 4.56 and still be happy.
