I've never been picky with 26" tires, always took whatever was cheap/available/durable.

If you want a bit of quirky style, check out the Cult x Vans tires.

I use Maxxis Ikon 27.5x2.2 on my "around town" bike. Not the fastest-rolling on pavement but I like the noise they make.

I think my best work was in high school, a 3.5" floppy with a folder on it named with a magic guid that turned it into a shortcut to the Windows control panel. Never did much with it, but got a lot of entertainment value out of its existence in the school computer labs.

Aren't 26'ers normally meant to climb with?

Imma sucker for a good noise. I'll check the Cult/Vans out, thanks.
Randomly I put the 26 version of the Ikon in my cart this week along with the Billy Bonkers everyone seems to dig.

Early MTBs, from the 80s into the early 2000s were almost all 26", before 27.5" and later 29" took over.

Nowadays 26" bikes are mostly used as "all-rounders" (utilitarian bikes that can ride on rough roads or mild trails) or as BMX/dirt jumpers.

    Gotcha.

I didn't get into riding at all until late 2010+ so we were running 29'ers mostly.

Only people I ever saw running 26'ers were those doing the wild jumps and whatnot.

Some people held onto 26ers in the 2010s because they liked how nimble the small wheels were, but most people have settled on 29ers as better because the bigger wheels can simply monster truck over stuff.

They have enough to pull together here and there and then have silly NM ladies fill in where needed. There are 5 of us NM ladies playing with 6 CO girls this time around. lol. Just enough to get buy with two lines. I scraped together an all ladies team last August and we pulled some of these ladies in to play too. You do what you can for womens - it's always a crap shoot anyway.

Durango also has the "Durango Betties" ladies team; they are kinda bitches though. They are there to win and not in a have fun kinda way against a shitty obviously shittier team. They played against us in August and just killed. They at least lost to the other NM team -- "Atomic Tatas" (also a bad ass name and named for one of the girls that survived breast cancer).

I've met lots of BA ladies playing the last couple of years; it's a good mix for the most part.

    Thunder Pussies!!!

I loved the speed you can get on a 29er, then again I can't call myself a real biker as I ran long but tame trails.

But yeah just "going over" stuff is stupid simple

I don't even have a bike anymore :pout:

CO is epic - I was borned there; grew up there; all that shit. lol.

I'm running a 50 there next month and a 100 miler in July; I'll be spending quite a few moments up that way soon for training and racin' -- thought not quite as far as pueblo -- that's a 5-6 hour drive. The 4 hour drives to Williams Creek or whatever for the weekend hit a little nicer.

I've hiked a shit ton both voluntarily and involuntarily

Is it the same with running would you say? Where you just kind of hit that wall of "pain/exhaustion" after which, it remains the same and is super easy to manage?

I ask cause fuck, I can't imagine running for all that long but hiking for me is/was easy. You get to like 10-15 miles and getting there it sort of 'hurts' and you get tired, but it levels out from there and it's easy to keep going.
