I was definitely thinking of taking the hose to it today and see if I can’t flush out the remainder. I took pics but it was dark and you really can’t tell how much is there

I made a coathanger hook tool to feed up the slot under the fender to try an get everything out. Made sure the slot was wide open and flushed the area out with compressed air and water from the door flap side.

Never knew about this! Just cleaned 10 years of crud out of mine . Fortunately no rust that I could see. Gave the dogleg a spray of Boeshield after it dried. Thanks for the tip.

Where do you guys live ? I'm in North Jersey - it's 20f and the wind is blowing hard - can't do anything til it warms a little. Let's see the pictures when you can. Thanks.

Took the hose to both sides tonight after work and it was still pretty plugged up, despite me getting out 1-2 quarts per side already. No signs of rust that I could see, norcal but not driven where they salt the roads very often.
Been trying to eliminate leak points since my floorboards have been swamped after getting the windshield replaced.
Also found some thin rubber sheet (about twice as thick as oem) at ace hardware to make a new 3rd brake light gasket since it’s supposedly not available from the dealer. Saw in another thread where some guys were running a bead of silicone around it so I added a thin bead around it too

My 05 Impala rotted out in the same spot because of this, it had all sorts of leaves and dirt packed in there. I will be checking mine tonight on my new to me Tacoma.

Driver's side was pretty bad, packed full of leaves. Luckily no rust yet.

Are there any other collection points/ drains that need to be cleaned on these trucks?

NO rust in Doglegs but looks like rusted thru on the corner of the door in the picture. Late now but I think some guys run a tube down from the window to coat the inside of the door - rocker panels have plugs you can take out and run spray into. Lots of salt in Michigan like New Jersey I guess. Thanks for posting - good quality pictures.
