Posted this in the lighting forum but not getting any replies, thought I'd try here...

2017 Tacoma owner here. I had a tail light burn out and cannot for the life of me get the bulb assembly out of the housing. It's the 7443 style bulb. I'm not talking about the bulb itself, but rather the sub assembly that the bulb clicks into which then twists into the tail light housing with the bayonet style coupling. That entire sub assembly will not untwist. If that makes sense. It's supposed to be a partial counterclockwise turn and then the fitting comes free from the housing. I'm able to turn the fitting, and it feels loose but it won't come out of the housing almost like it's getting hung up on something. All the other tail light fittings I can untwist with no problem to get to the actual bulb, but I'm just having trouble with one of them.

Anyone experience this before? Any suggestions?

I’d say try brute force! I’d wiggle that puppy like it was caught in a tornado.

Tried that. I honestly feel like I'm gonna break it if I pull any harder. Maybe I should just say F it and try yanking it out with a pair of pliers. If it breaks then perfect excuse to buy some cool aftermarket lights lol

You said it'll turn... Maybe try to pry it out with two large flat screwdrivers?

You say it will turn counterclockwise ? Maybe you haven't turned it far enough and it's catching in the edges because it's not fully turned or ready to pull cleanly. Put on a work glove and give a good turn. If you turn it as far as it will go it should almost fall out.

When you turn it it should make kinda click sound. Sounds like you might need to turn it more
