Stock (99.999%) OEM Bed Floor Mat, Front Bed Rail Cargo Net and hooks, Auto-Dim mirror w/Compass and outside Temperature display, TRD Pro Grille, Uni-Filter air pump modification, WeatherTech floor liners f/r. (winter) OEM All-Weather floor mats (summer).
For whatever reason: they don't all rust. My made-in-the-Lone-Star-State truck  has been living in the northeast since 2014 when it was built and shipped to Connecticut. When I got it (2021: second owner) the only rust on the frame was the welds and it had never been treated. I had the required inspection done, they applied the CRC treatment to the frame laminations and the cavities, installed all the plugs and declared it good and covered by the 12-year extended frame warranty until 2026. I primed and painted all of the welds and any other unpainted parts, (ex: control arms, rear diff cast iron) then sprayed it all down with fluid film. The dealer re-inspects it every year in the spring when I have it in there, and so far the invoice still documents:"NTF: fame good" status on the invoice. The only rust on it is some of the brackets here and there under the truck and some of the air-injection hose clamps. No body rust anywhere.

    So far so good.

First, find a big mudhole, then, go through it, and back up, do this several times. Repeat, especially just before winter, to properly coat the undercarriage with mud so the salt doesn't get to it :) Actually, good question, I bought into the 10 yr black rubberized stuff they spray on the frame yearly (I made sure they added a lot everywhere) and had the other free plugs and coating applied a few years ago. Rust is only starting to show under the rocker panels. I didn't do any other rust treatment, although I kind of regret it now. The frame looks good, but it might just be all that black stuff that holds it together, or because I have a lot of mileage on unsalted forestry roads :notsure:

My 2010 has been in MA its whole life. I have it Krowned every fall. It has no body rust whatsoever, and almost no rust at all on the frame.

Interesting stuff. Let me know what you think is driving these numbers. Here are my thoughts on it...

    1. 38% (19 of 50 votes) of folks believe you get what you pay for and the price of the 4th gen makes sense based on what you are getting in the truck over prior generations.
    2. 62% (31 of 50 votes) of folks do not think the price is worth it and would even pay the incredibly high price of the fourth gen for one of the older models if they were making them brand spankin.

    Why?
    1. Toyota people believe Toyota is losing its way in trying to keep up with the North American midsize truck market performance and styling.
    2. Numbers are skewed based on the amount of owners of the other generations voting for their own truck.
    3. All due to NHTSA and EPA garbage destroying the American automotive industry.

^Did you check the date of the article?

People want the 70-series until they have to pay $55k for hand crank windows.

^Lol no. The 70-series LC is $88k AUD. It's a live example of what happens when Toyota doesn't do continuous cost-cutting and efficiency improvements.

Yours is a truly stupid post........No one is ACTUALLY paying 4th generation prices for a 3rd gen. The dealership I bought my 2024 from STILL has a flawless, one owner, low mile, dealer maintained clean carfax 2022 TRD OR that has been for sale since February. Despite price reductions of thousands of dollars, it's still sitting there--priced over $10k less than a comparable 4th gen. I don't know if you are just jealous or seriously delusional?
