None of them were hurt. Supposedly 2 people died from this tornado and several are missing.

Our tornadoes have not been big, but there's a hill just up the street from me where you can see across the county. One of tornadoes that came through years ago, I saw from that hill when it was miles off. However, the first one that I ever remember coming through did so about a mile from our house. The sky was green. It was frickin scary and my best friend who lived in it's path, their place got trashed. A little later, one came through along the top of the mountain when I worked at the park up there. You could see the path it cut from the through the forest by all the trees down. That damage can still be seen today after 20+ years.

We don't get many for real tornadoes here in PA.

I recall one in the news, circa 1990.
Actually, a series of them, along the south shore of Lake Erie, including a couple F-5s
That's west of the mountains though.

About 20 years ago one touched down near me, just outside the village of Mont Alto.
It was at night during a tremendous thunderstorm.
Thankfully, it was in open fields and slammed into the mountain.
No damage to homes, no one hurt.

That Autumn I went Grouse hunting east of the area.
I found the track of the tornado where it went up the mountainside.
    That was an eye opener.
Boulders, mature trees ripped up and flung around like some giant's toys.

I got this butter stick ornament to remind me of my mom two years ago. Now it means more to me than ever.
She cooked a ham dinner. Carrots, beans ( with butter in the pans of course )and of course taters had butter. She sent me home with compartment container with butter on top of each thing. Out friggin standing. :fistbump:
