supposedly, local ace hardware's are supposed to be able to order new double-pane glass assemblies like that.

at least, that's what my retired neighbor that used to specialize in windows and exteriors likes to tell me about my two windows that are fogged up. however, i haven't been motivated enough to try.

    that's a really difficult one.

anything stiff enough to stand up, likely won't be flexible enough to work back around the lower roof ribbing-- it would need a decent amount of caulk.

not cheap, but i would consider looking into re-flashing and caulking the soffit so it's one continuous piece of aluminum sheeting from the uper roof drip edge to the lower roof, and then caulking the vertical seams, but ideally getting a very tight/gasketed finish along the bottom edge to allow for water escapement..

At least now you will know which breaker that circuit is on.

I made dowel pins to really make sure that the mailbox post was going to stay together. I applied the first coat of urethane last night. When I got home today, I took one look at the finish and absolutely hated it then I realized that I had used interior oil base polyurethane. It was never going to stay on the wood very long once the elements got to it, so I decided that it would be easiest to sand off the urethane while it's still on the saw horses. 3 hours of sanding and I'm back to this point.

I will get some deck/fence stain tomorrow that is close to the same color and re-stain it. That type of stain is meant for outdoors and doesn't require any top coat/urethane sealer. Bugger... I want this silly project to be done.

I like the rustic weathered look it's taking on. Maybe just a clearcoat fence finish from here?

I agree, a stiff material would be a first choice for durability, but like you said working it around the lower roof ridges would be challenging. If caulking wasn't part of the solution I would be happier.

    Thanks for your thoughts.

That’s what I figured. Thanks for confirming.

Interesting. The last time I tried to have a single window replaced, I couldn’t get anyone to take the job. They wanted to replace every window in the house. I’ll take some measurements and see what Ace has to say. Thanks.

You just need the glass replaced, search for residential glass replacement, not window replacement. A couple I found real quick for you. https://www.lonestarglass.com/residential https://www.llglassandmirror.com/

I know nothing about these companies, do your own due diligence

I hadn't realized there was a difference. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

What I have done in the past was remove the window sash and take it to the repair shop. Usually double pain with a vacuum or argon gas filled.

Edit : also they can match up the type of glass, ex low E glass.....

A residential window tint company would likely know someone who could replace the glass in that window.

Well it turns out that I have not just one window that has gone bad, but 10. Only the one that I messed up this weekend has moisture in it, but the guy that came out showed me exactly what was wrong with the other 9 windows, as well. I'm definitely getting the south and west facing windows repaired - thanks to @xJuice for saving me about a grand per window there - but the others are less critical so we'll see where the quote comes in.

Thanks. There's a few really nice brick structures, mine won't stand out that much but I don't care.

I agree, I really liked the sanded look. I stopped at a Sherwin Williams after work, they had a low sheen/matte sealant but the guy told me that it would still have a bit of "shiny" to it, and it was only available by the gallon so I passed on it and went with a solid pigment deck stain. It's not exactly what I was hoping for but it will do, I'm done embracing the OCD on a silly mailbox post.

If a bit of the grain shows through once it dries, it will be good 'nuf.

Doing as much work ahead of time, glad I did. Probably a couple hours planning and somewhat executing. Pretty sure I saw this in a Windows '95 screen saver

I know I'm gonna get the "why'd you use elbows with PEX" comment. Yes I understand it will impact flow a little bit, but this looks better IMO.

I also stubbed up with a 1/2" line for outside spigots that isn't conditioned from the softener.

Giving the "lightly used then changed for a bigger" washer/dryer a thorough cleaning..... Damn thing had a stink bug colony in it.
Just need a 33mm deep well inpact socket to take the drum off the tub to clean it out. Hopefully, next week, I will no longer have drive half an hour to do laundry.

Worked for a couple of days for a customer who has a substantial "Sunmer Home" on the Maine coast. Spent 2 days swapping porch windows (2 large porches with floor to ceiling inserts with 3 rows of openings) for screens and moving all the pool (yes there's a pool at a house on the ocean) patio furniture from the garage.

Not a bad view for 2 days.
