I bought two 10' sticks as I was in the Camry picking up stuff. $332 worth of fittings o_O

I did buy extra as I do not want to have to run to the store in the middle of doing this. I also bought some SHTF stuff just in case.

He does have a skid steer.. with multiple attachments.. he runs a firewood business but also has a large wood mill. Makes it easy for me to get decent wood. The cutting board I posted the other day is all from "scraps" from his place

Could have saved you some $ for that PEX. Apparently we are giving away the flood poly pipe just set it up and take how ever much you want.

Welp maybe not since you'd have to come down and fetch it. But we would give you whatever you wanted.

I know you expressed some interest in my softener setup I was doing. For a DIY unit install was fairly easy and initial setup was simple.

Final cost softener and fittings $867.

Longevity will be determined, but my water feels much better now!

First we dug the hole where the hydrant will be.

    upload_2025-5-17_19-24-7.jpg

Then I got the poor man’s trencher, with official depth mark.

    upload_2025-5-17_19-24-39.jpg

Worked alright, had to do a lot of shoveling.

    upload_2025-5-17_19-25-0.jpg

Who put those gutter drains there?

    upload_2025-5-17_19-25-20.jpg

Yes, we shoveled all that to the sides. I’ll cover the line a little then patch those pipes. I got to get some underground wire so I can get the drop cord out of the yard going to the fencer for the garden.

    upload_2025-5-17_19-25-44.jpg

Got the line in, no hammer drill to go through the foundation but I did use a hammer and a chisel.

I would have hooked it up but I got a 3/4” pex to 3/4” female NPT fitting yesterday, I need a male fitting. Oh well, I’m tired anyway.

Gotta love the ease of working with PEX. Can have everything functional in a fraction of the time of copper. Plus it's flexible so good for if the pipe shifts in the ground.

Nice looking job as usual.

I like the attention to detail putting the instruction sticker and wrench near by. :)

I try and keep from making it look like a total DIY amateur

There's also a total of 4 valves going on there. Excessive? Yes. Easy to isolate and change the filter, and an emergency shutoff that's easy to get to. Yeup.
