I dig the Steelies, but the fender flares should be body coloured. I don't understand charging more for generic black

Oh good. As is the way it has always been. I assumed the black was top option since it was so prominent in 3/4 promo trucks.

If body coloured flares were a MUST HAVE requirement, what trims levels are available to me?

Unfortunately I think only the SR5 and the Sport.
The OR are flat black and the Pro and Trailhunter are Gloss black.

SR5, lowest trim gets best fenders. Wild.

    Anybody here running a Yotatune?
if so, which one did you get and do you think it's worth it?
The 'top' tune is CAD 600+, which is a little too steep for my taste. The bottom tune is around 350, but I'm wondering if that will give enough benefits?
Not looking to lay rubber at each stoplight, more about getting a more responsive truck and getting rid of the gear hunting.

Also: (how) does this affect the truck when on the trails?

Many of the third gen tacos have had it done on here if I recall.

@Trdtacosauce I know spoke highly of it and so did the @URBAN_COWBOY_TACO

    I had my 19 tuned...do it.
Throttle response was totally spot on and the 6spd trans came to life. No more gear hunting. It's totally worth it in my mind.

I don't see a $350 tune but if it's OV Tune 2.0, it hasn't been developed for many years and is not much of an improvement over the factory tune on 2020-2023 trucks.

OTT is the most mature and most proven. I'm running an earlier version of the OTT tune on my 4Runner and the improvement even on the 4.0L is very noticeable, pulls nicely at any rpm in any gear. Even at $690 it is still the best bang for your buck of any mod you can do to your powertrain, with basically no drawbacks.

Note: the PCM uses different shift tables when cruise control is engaged that aren't touchable by aftermarket tunes. Any gear hunting you see with cruise control engaged will continue to be there.

Do you recall with tune you got ? which 'level' ?

    Right now they have
    * 'Original OVtune20.0 or CVC (AT)' (It's actually 490, not sure where I got the 350 from)
    * One for MT (so does not apply to me)
    * OTT-Overland Tailor Tune (the $690 one)

The gas pedal response will seem more sensitive after a tune. You'll get used to it after a day or so, at which point it won't be too noticeable on trails. For really technical obstacles, you should be left foot braking, which further helps with smoothness.

I had an Ultimate9 gas pedal controller installed with the intention of running in "eco" mode to reduce gas pedal sensitivity on trails, but ended up never using it.

For mud/deep snow/sand dunes, the extra power from the tune is helpful.
