Has anyone come across anyone that makes a no drill 3rd breaklight platform mount for a plow lightbar / searchlight for the 3rd gen tacoma?? Easy find for any other truck, but not a tacoma. Any ideas? (See image of idea)Screenshot_20250516_171853_Chrome.jpg

none i'm aware of for the tacoma. in part because the mounting system for the tacoma's brake light mounts behind the headliner with no exposed screws.

imo, far easier to run a back rack, and mount lights off that. if you're using it for work, you're throwing stuff in the bed, usually violently at the end of a long work day after luck has ran out, so it really only makes sense to add some rear window protection anyways.

Okay thank you, good valid points. I don't have the luxury of a back rack because I keep the tonneau cover on the truck most of the time so was hoping for another solution if available.

they do sell tonneau cover adapters
    https://www.backrack.com/tonneau-cover-adaptors

though i'm not sure how well they work in reality.

but there are always going to be other options. you could install a roof rack(warning i'm only looking at the preview image, haven't watched the video)

there's also a lot of these 'roll bars' that have tonneau cover risers

personally, i love my roll-up tonneau cover, and require that it rolls up entirely to the front, so most of those options won't work for me. i also don't like most of the current crop of 'roll bars' offered, as they're all 'ikea-like' where they flat-pack them, and then slip together. i'd prefer something more like the one-piece heavy metal offroad load bars(which they used to have an image displaying how they went around a tonneau, but don't anymore, despite the asking price)

but personally, i don't like that they're only 1.75" tubing, where i'd really prefer 2.5-3" tubing, but even at the size they are, they're somewhat expensive...
